What are the Best Wordpress Membership Plugins

i use fast member for the membership security

and optimize press for the membership platform

this is a great little combination and works great for me

fastmember - $297

optimize press - $97

not cheap but it`s an investment into your business and certainly pay off

For me it is DAP (Digital Access Pass). It is updated often and I haven't had any issues with it.

I tried S2member for the first time a few weeks ago on my new membership site, and it was quite easy to implement it. Even for me who doesn't have any coding skills.

It can be as complicated as you want it to be. It is complex, but a basic membership site is simple. I've got a free video, no opt-in, setting up a complete membership site using S2Member. It supports multi-levels and even has an integrated autoresponder.

As for people asking about free vs pro, there is no real difference as far as membership capabilities go. The difference is the ability to take Paypal Pro and the ability to create one-time offers for your members.

free or premium? if premium I like the sound of WP emember (by tips and tricks HQ) but I've not tried it. I haven't had a need for a paid membership site (yet).

I researched digital access pass, wishlist, s2member.. I think these are the most popular.. but there are others. I bought and returned wishlist, it just was not for me so I went with s2member instead.
I find that s2member does everything I want it to and more..

I have to add my opinion here on s2member too. S2member seems to be a solid
membership plugin BUT it caused my site to load in about 15-20 sec.!

There was no way to fix this issue although I had hired some coding guys.

It surprises me that no one reports any problems with s2member. Is is just me
or what?

No, they can NOT!
The futility of threads like this is clearly shown by the fact that 99% of the responders are using only ONE solution/plugin and are NOT able to make any kind of comparison. Everybody posts about their personal preference, which is based, in most of the cases, on an accidental choice of a plugin

While you are in principle correct: very few have actually "compared"
tools, most are simply telling their personal experience with "one" tool.
Not to mention that "the best" in anything is subject to interpretation.

But I disagree that such discussions are futile for the simple reason that
the OP author is confronted with a problem - need for a membership solution -
and is looking for advice from fellow marketers. I see value here,
although it is questionable and subject to interpretation.
But it is better than nothing.

So the OP might have better titled his thread something like:
"What is your favorite WP membership plugin?"

Anyway, I just learned about a new package I did not knew existed: fastmember
so I'm a happier warrior now ... hehe
