Please help. how can i remove the links from footer in free theme

Please help me. I want to remove the links of designer company from footer in free wordpress theme. I dont know how. Please tell me

    Editing the footer.php template file.
    If it is not there but in the functions.php file - then throw it out and get a decent theme.

      The decent thing to do would be to ask the author/owner of the theme.
      Removing his link may be contrary to the terms & conditions attached to the theme.

    I dont know how ... I tried and checked every file but didn't get the clue to delete. Can you please check the theme and show me the exact portion what portion is for delete?

    As mentioned above, if it is not in the footer.php, it will definitely in function file. If it show that you can't remove it because it will cause theme error, through it away and choose anothers. WordPress themes are required GPL according WordPress policy.

    YET, your preferred theme are required you to buy it in order to remove the links in sidebar and footer.

      Get into your code in Wordpress, find the file that contains the links and just delete them. While opening the files hot "CTRL-F" in any browser and paste one of the links to see if they're in that file.

    Hei dinesh 900, you should read terms & condition of the theme. is it possible to you to remove the footer or links of the publisher/owner.
    if possible, to remove the footer link, first you should login to your admin wordpress page, click on menu Appearance -> editor, clink and edit the "footer.php" file. Hope this useful and Good luck

    What a low life scumbag cheater. You expect a free theme, yet want to remove credit/acknowledgement to the creator of it!

    Either pay for a theme or offer the creator some $ and ask their permission to remove it.

      We don't know If OP got the theme from the original developer. A lot of theme sites rip off themes then swap the bogus theme sites name/URL for backlinks.

    Two answers:

    1 - It's very simple, Istvan has already told you how to do it. I could give you some more detailed instructions but I won't - sorry!
    2 - If you don't find it simple to do then there's likely a reason - the theme creator doesn't want you to do it so they made it intentionally difficult.

    Keeping the links there is often a condition of the theme designer - they do all the hard work to create the theme and give it to you for free in return for getting another backlink via your WordPress site.

    If you remove the link you are not honoring your part of the deal, and that's very very wrong.

    The only ethical way of doing this is to contact the theme developer and ask permission to do it, or ask if they can SELL you a version of the theme that has no designer credit links.

    Hey, man! Look at the theme source again, they do require you to buy the full developer license for $37 in order to remover the link and credit to from the theme. You could also use the theme as many sites or client sites as you want when you pay.

    This is not fully free theme; it's the upsell theme that require you to buy it in order to freely use the theme.

    why dont you go for the other theme that dnt contain any link in the footer....becoz it wont be possible to delete the link so easily...either you should ask the respective company for that or pay some bucks for it...

    Something else you could do is use CSS to "hide" the link. Just use dispay:none. But like others have mentioned, it is a bit rude to remove the link since it's a free template.
