Website does not redirect to 404 on error

WEB DESIGN

I have a Wordpress website with the latest version of wordpress.

I tried to install several plugins to redirect non found pages to homepage (link juice keeper) but none of them work.

On error I get:
Not Found

The requested URL /test was not found on this server.

How do I make it redirect to homepage?

Make the error pages on your cpanel / host side than trying to get more plugins. Less plugins the better

What theme are you using? Try using one of the recent default WordPress twentyxxxxx themes and disable all but one of the redirect plugins, test them on your site.

Check the reviews of any plugin before you install it and make sure it's been reported working on the current WordPress version.

  Try your a.htaccess file
  
  To redirect one page to another page:
  Redirect /old-index.html http://www.mynewwebsite.com/foldername/new-index.html
