Can't get a single conversion off of Facebook

I'm promoting a game through Facebook ads that pays at $1.55 per registration. I've sent about 175 clicks to it, but I've yet to get a single conversion. My AM says the average conversion rate is about 12% for this game, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm new to this whole PPC thing, so this kind of learning process is expected, but I'd figure I would have gotten at least one conversion off a basic CPA offer.

My first batch of ads were doing a "batch and switch" where I'd entice the viewer with a picture of a more fun looking game, until I learned that this method doesn't convert. My second batch of ads is using a "Play (similar popular MMO) 2.0" style, but this doesn't work either.

My CTR for both the first and second batch are good (0.1 - 0.2%), but with zero conversions, I had to stop them. So, can anyone help me troubleshoot this? What's the likely problem I'm experiencing? Thank you.

Geeze Louise! You are joking right!!?? You are totally pissing off your prospects by pulling a bait and switch. Facebook users are young but the aren't stupid. Why don't you try advertising the actual game you are promoting. Could this get more obvious?

I know, but you never know for sure until you test it out. I just see it as part of the learning process, so now I won't make the same mistake twice. I do have an ad saying "Beta Test New Game" that's only brought in seven clicks (the other ads were dominating them), so I'll give those guys some more juice and see where that takes me.

Sometimes the creatives make so much sense at the time, but in hindsight it's like duh, why did I think that'd work.

Well if people are ending up on something they do not want they will just leave.

        Instead use a title like

        Sick of XXXX Try XXXX
Is XXXX Getting Old? Try XXXXX

Remember what other people get for conversions is not what you are going to get. Also make sure your target audience is good for the content you are offering. A decent CTR means nothing if you are getting 60 y/o grandmas to click.

That 12% was not achieved through some bs bait-and-switch campaign, for sure.

The CPA network EPC and conversions should not be taken at face value. They could have been achieved via an email campaign with a strong pre-sell before the user clicks the link, for example. Also, CPA networks can manipulate those numbers, filter out small operators who direct-link to the offer etc.

If you want the best results, find out what the viewer wants, and give it to them. Bait-and-switch is probably not what they want.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.
