Expected Revenue per click? I think we need a better ad network...

Hi Everyone,

Quick question about revenue to be expected...

Background:

We have a website that is dedicated to video gaming.
We launched the site in April, all marketing has been word of mouth at this point.
We are currently at 38,000 unique visitors and approaching a million page views.

The site has been declined by google adsense as there is "not enough text" - which is ridiculous as the site is a graphic based site with a huge amount of pertinent/related data - but it is what it is (their robot crawls it and declines us before a human ever gets to look at the quality of our content).

Displayed advertising on our site had just over 2200 click throughs last week - just under 2000 clicks the week before.

I'm not impressed with our current affiliate network where 2.2K click throughs generated less than $8 revenue (and another week 1400 click throughs generated $3).

Does anyone have any recommendations on affiliate networks?
We would like to generate some ad revenue so we can actually start promoting the site and really drive some traffic to it - chicken'n'egg syndrome.

cheers and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Ed

I guess I should clarify: we are looking to increase revenue from the ads that we display on our site.

Would it be possible to get a look at the website (feel free to PM if you'd rather keep it private). Been running my own gaming site for a few years now so may be able to help

Are you 100% set on just affiliate offers or are you open to more traditional advertising?

If you can't find anything, apply to amazon affiliate program and use their banners as advertising. You can make decent revenue from that.

Gaming is a huge niche, there are loads of amazon products you can promote..

Also try promoting some services like GameFly. They pay around $15 for a free trial signup.

      Hi Solo,

I'm not comfortable with putting our domain publicly on this forum at this point and the system won't let me PM you because I'm "too new".

If you can PM me your email, I'll reply to you directly.

      Thanks everyone for your input!

      Cheers,
      Ed

p.s. The Amazon affiliate program is not available to people in Colorado. Even though we shot down the tax law that Amazon complained about, Amazon left the ban in place on us. Ugh.

Do you have a YouTube channel associated with your site? It seems like a good fit. If you do you could make money with VidKlix.com.

Affiliate products will look good. Make a banner on your website about any product from clickbank or any cpa network and it will convert good.

Sign up to a couple cpa networks. Tell the affiliate manager what your traffic is and let them give you offers you can promote. YOu'll make WAY more then adsense would.
