Google’s New Update Aims To Takedown Ad Heavy Sites

Is your site populated by Ads? If so you may be in for a bit of trouble. Google has been working on a new algorithm that will lower the page rank of website pages that are giving information not catering to the users.
The new page rank algorithm will aim at site pages with many ads. Usually, a website places a lot of Adsense ads, in order to get as much income as possible from advertising.
During the announcement of Google Panda, a lot of people thought already of the ad heavy sites being the primary target. Because Matt Cutts did say that one of the Google Panda’s aim was to check if the website has a huge number of ads on its pages.
Regardless, it has been confirmed now by Google, that the new update will primarily target website pages with excessive ads.
“Such sites may not rank as highly going forward.” Says Cutts “If you click on a website and the part of the website you see first either doesn’t have a lot of visible content above-the-fold or dedicates a large fraction of the site’s initial screen real estate to ads, that’s not a very good user experience,” Cutts wrote.
Google has provided a handy tool to use on your browser that shows how your websites appears on different screen resolutions. Since this is more on the algorithmic side, you can just adjust the layout of your website, so that you can keep your seo page rank.
Because this is an algorithmic penalty, not a manual penalty, changing your page layout is one way to recover rankings.
