The term Sticky is a technical term used by most of the industry insiders. However, due to its negative perception among public, term "Essential" is also used. Making your website sticky means to arrange, navigate, design and update it in such a way that visitors spend more time on it.

By making your website sticky, you make it irresistible for your customers, they are bound to spend more time and they are bound to come back to your lovely website, and yes, they will share it with other friends. Adrian Morrison shares that most of the internet markets do not understand how to use website design to achieve that essential stickiness on your website.

Most of the internet marketers make their website difficult to search. They hide important files in folders and encourage users to search them, this is not going to work, and this never has worked. Users will choose a more easy to navigate website instead of your jigsaw puzzle, no matter how valuable files are hidden in the confinements of folders and folders.

Adrian Morrison is an internet marketer. He started his career as an entrepreneur. In his late teens, financial crisis of his family urged him to start his practical life while continuing his education. Soon his talent attracted more customers and he established a career as a reputed internet marketer. Adrian believes that all internet marketers must understand importance of their website. It is a representation for your business.

Adrian suggests following tips to increase stickiness of your website.

  1. Make your website design productive, i.e. it must offer something beneficial to the visitors, usually with first click.
  2. Your website must not keep in waiting. Visitors hate to wait while your long ad runs without any option to skip.
  3. You must readily provide information, in an easy and concise way. This will increase attention of the visitor and they will feel like home at your website.
  4. Your website must not break focus of the visitor, i.e. no ad between a file is uploading, a song is playing or the reader is reading something interesting. Showing ads while a visitor is performing an act will overshadow your useful content.
  5. Keep the distractions away from the website.
  6. Design an effective landing page.
  7. Never attach links or ads with your landing page, if the visitor clicks on your landing page, you must take him to where you mentioned, not to something entirely different.
  8. Search engines will rank your website low if your impression does not take the customer to the relevant page.
  9. If you want to achieve a successful affiliate marketing campaign, make sure that you take your customers to the relevant pages.
  10. Make sure that site navigation is user friendly. The site navigation must allow user to go wherever he want, without any interruption.
  11. If you have a long process going on, use status bar to keep user updated on the progress.
  12. Make sure that all your content and visuals are clear.
  13. Include videos and short articles more as compare to lengthy and boring content.
  14. Allow customization of your website to users, just like Amazon and Facebook. Research shows that user will definitely return to the website where he has spent time customizing his account.
