Affiliate commisions got you down?

Are you an affiliate marketer? Then you may be interested in this analysis by Ben Edelman of which affiliate network's tracking cookies gets detected and blocked/removed by which anti-spyware program and this calculator to estimate the effects of cookie removal on your bottom line.
And this doesn't even account for the effect of Firefox 3 blocking affiliate cookies by default so your potential customer actually have to actively go into cookie management and explicitly allow CJ, clickbank, Shareasale or the other networks for you to get credit for the sale.
There's more than one way to lose your rightful affiliate commission, and not all of them involve hijacking. Promoting Firefox to your list would do the damage all by itself. Choose your affiliate network and promotions accordingly - if your network only relies on tracking cookies to credit you with commissions you're losing money.

I have been using firefox for years, I have add-ons for yahoo and google installed in firefox and I have hundreds of cookies that are tracking my returns to their sites, so obviously I assumed that any cookies I set are also being tracked. Interesting to be told that our visitors are not being tracked if we are using firefox. Perhaps someone who knows what they are doing might contact firefox and ask them if there is another way to make this work. Actually I don't really have any idea that Firefox block out cookies but anyhow we could substitute Firefox with Opera browser. It is fast and free. Get it here :
