That's how I feel this morning. I launched my WSO and to my dismay, nothing. Crickets, tumbleweeds.

I was not too sure of what to expect, by utter and complete silence was not the picture I envisioned when I decided to put my product up for WSO.

It is early and some folks have requested to promote the thread, and I am grateful for that.

This is round one of fight one. I'm not going to give up just because I got a jabbed on the nose.

Stay tuned and see what develops.

Cheers,
Danno

I don't actually post WSOs myself, but I've worked with others who have. Here are a few things I've observed:

    1. Be sure to get some good, detailed reviews. That means more than "Great product from a great guy." (Vrs' review at your WSO is good. You probably need one or two more like that.)

In today's economy, people want to feel that they're part of a group of people who think the WSO is a smart purchase. Even with a good, juicy sales letter, with only 16 posts (as I see on your profile right now), some buyers will be nervous about your expertise. They'll want second, third, and maybe fourth opinions.

    2. Post related, helpful, free information in relevant threads. Be sure your signature includes a compelling link to your current WSO.

In fact, post more in general. Your writing is very expressive. If more people read your comments in other threads, and like you (I think they will), they're more likely to buy from you.

    3. (This should probably be #1, but I'm not going to rewrite this comment.) Unless your current (gun) photo is a joke -- and therefore temporary -- your userpic should represent something that appeals to people.

Sure, skip the fake pose in front of the fancy car; that's a cliche and it won't impress many people. However... well, you get the point. If you're going to use your own photo, make it appealing.

    4. Survey the competition. Your sales copy is very good, but why should someone buy your Google Places product if they've already bought half a dozen others? What makes your WSO different or better?

There have been a lot of good Google Places products among recent WSOs, and even more WSOs that included Google Places info in a product related to working with offline businesses.

Assuming that a few Warriors haven't actually bought one of those products... why choose your product over the others?

And, for the majority who may already own related products (but still need that extra nudge/info to get started)... why add your WSO to their virtual library?

Yes, those are rhetorical questions, but they're features that may need to be more prominent in your sales copy.

    5. Match the income to the screenshot. Maybe I missed something, but I see $147 on your screenshot, while you're saying $347 in your sales copy. That's going to confuse buyers, if it doesn't actually send up a red flag.

Your writing is very good. This blog post stood out in the crowd as a clever, expressive and literate post. That's why I took the time to reply.

Go read (or re-read) the Cult of Done Manifesto (I have a printout of Joshua Rothaas' poster over my desk) and get your next WSO ready to go.

Remember, once people see how good your information is, they'll go back and buy several of your past WSOs. So, the Google Places WSO isn't history. It will be re-energized each time you launch a new WSO and add to your 1000 True Fans.

    Cheerfully,
    Eibhlin ("Eileen")
