A Clayton Makepeace Swipe for Your Collection

Every copywriter should have at least one package by Clayton Makepeace in his or her swipe file.
No, on second thought... if you're a copywriter, you should have as many Makepeace swipes as you can get your hands on.
Both the American Writer's & Artists Institute (AWAI) and Bob Bly have named Clayton "the highest-paid copywriter in America" -- and with good reason. He pulls in more money in a year -- and sometimes in a single month -- than most copywriters will see in their lifetimes.
He's earned up to $3 million per year in royalties since 1997. And when he really hits a home run, he's earned as much as $1.4 million in a single month.
The reason is simple: His copy sells. Throughout his career, Clayton's copy has earned his clients well over $1 billion in sales. So you can see why I'm a firm believer in studying his copy.
Moving on ...
The swipe I have for you today is one I consider an absolute MUST for every swipe file.
Clayton wrote it for Health Resources, and it has the distinction of earning the highest average sale of any new customer acquisition promotion he'd ever written. (Or at least, that he had written before August 2006. Since he's still cranking out copy on a daily basis, that may have changed.)
Clayton felt the success of the promotion could largely be attributed to two factors:
1. The power of his sales arguments for Coq10
2. The power of his sales arguments for the product being offered
FYI: Three covers were tested for this promotion. This one performed the best by far and became a strong control.

PS: To get your hands on a treasure trove of some of Clayton's best packages, check out Steal These Secrets (volumes 1 & 2) in the online store over at his website, The Total Package.
And to get a steady stream of his current pieces, sign up for the free e-zine at Money and Markets. You'll get a flood of new Makepeace swipes every time they run a major house-file promotion.
