I work with writers everyday. Hundred of writers. I get thousands (yes thousands) of articles written in a month. How do I do it? I pick good writers.

I created a forum call www.forum.writerwrangler.com and I put a few posts for writers up. I have never advertised this forum. Never paid a dime to get traffic. It has over 1000 writers as members and they are all good writers.

I do not pay dirt for my articles but I pay on the low side.

Just remember that writers are people too. I started out in this business trolling Rent A Coder for jobs (where I still have a Top Coder 10) and I found so many marketers looking for 500 word articles for $2. Even in a third world country that rate stinks.

So how can you find good writers? Do not offer crap for article prices and then expect to get quality articles. You do not have to pay an arm or a leg to get a writer to respect you and send you timely non-plagiarized articles.

Let me tell you what you will get for $2 articles that are 500 words.
The writer will take other jobs and do yours last. That means that you probably will not get your articles on time. Your will get copycats. If you do not check your articles in Copyscape you deserve what you get. Most people that pay nothing for unique articles get just that . Nothing. Just a mechanically spun article of gibberish.

So to pick a good writer. First pay a rate that does not insult them.

Next... And this is the best tip I can give you for finding a writer that will write what you need. This is in an email or thru a bidding site.

When you first get contact write a set of instructions for them to answer and send you by a required time.

For Example: Please follow these directions exactly. Send me two lines that best tell me why you would be the best writer for this post.

And write two lines about your writing style. Have these back to me by the end of the work day eastern standard time on Friday.

Too simple you think? Believe me half the writers will write five lines and be late or just not respond.

If they send it back to you exactly as you wish; you will know that they understood English, can follow simple directions and can hit a deadline.

I have plenty of other tips on how to find a good writer but my best tip is to just let me handle that for you and then you will not need to worry about deadlines, plagiarism and moody writers with issues
