I need a pea

Standing in the grocery, intent on choosing the best can of peas from the shelved wall of pea cans, I have no idea which is best. I could have researched online to create a more prepared shopping experience, but we all know the conflicting information would further confuse the issue.
So what do I do? I examine the cans for graphics, weight of contents, ingredients, general look and condition. I eliminate those with words I do not like, and the ones with the ugly pictures. Then I am down to number of peas per dollar, and even here I am swayed a bit by the promise of a better pea for mere pennies more.
None of this is guaranteed to get me the best pea, or even a pea that I will like. No, the only way to know is to do what I intend to do with those peas. Then I will know. And if I find a pea I like, I generally stick with it. I do this to avoid having to go through that process of selecting a pea again, even though I know I could have an even better pea than the one I have.
And that is what I call Due Diligence. It is not the quality of pea that has sold me. It is not the cost. It is something else, and I am satisfied. I always believe what I tell myself.
