What if you could make $50 to $500 per month on every website you own? How many websites would you build? Ten? Twenty? One-hundred?

Let’s face it, if you had twenty websites producing an average of $300 per month, that would be a pretty good passive income, wouldn’t it? Who can’t use an extra $70,000 or so a year?

Here’s the thing, I actually have websites (blogs mostly) making more than $500 per month, but I’ve had them a long time. I’d say these blogs don’t really count, because what I’m writing about today are websites you can build that will start earning passive income in a matter of weeks, if not days.

The secret to creating passive income websites that begin generating cash fast and continue to produce for years is to understand how markets work. Generating passive income is not a matter of what you sell; it’s mostly related to demand.

A market is a community of people who share a common interest in a particular subject or activity. The reality is that just about anywhere you find pockets of people online that are passionate about something, the money follows. That’s because these “pockets of people” represent DEMAND. The secret is finding what people are passionate about so that you can tap into the demand.

Markets are Defined by DEMAND, not Products!!!

Most people simply don't understand that sales are made in response to demand, not a cool product. The people who do understand this essential concept learn to tap into markets with strong demand and then they figure out what products are needed to fill the demand.

Believe it or not, this is a lot easier than it sounds. In fact, even though the Internet has created more competition, it also made the discovery of new and emerging markets much easier.

As H.G. Wells once said, “Fools make researches and wise men exploit them.” Well, today we’re going to do both because you need conclusive market facts so you can exploit them.

The Business Model that Works Every Time!

Let me share a secret with you about online business. This simple three step process is the key to making money come to you like crazy. Do yourself a favor and write this down.

STEP 1: Find a problem that needs solving and then find a product that can solve it. Sales success comes from demand, not from supply. Your job is to “find a hungry crowd”.

STEP 2: Build a website and promote your solution with a strong compelling benefit.
If you don’t present people with a strong compelling benefit then you won’t get sales. It's that simple.

STEP 3: Bring interested visitors to your website. The more interested visitors you attract the more sales you will make. It's a pretty basic formula. The easiest way to start bringing traffic to your new website is to get it listed in Google for the keyword phrase related to the problem you are solving.

That’s it!

This is the business model that works every time. The reason it works is because most sales are made in response to a problem. When people are hungry they buy food!

There’s a strong likelihood that you’re saying to your self this very moment, “I knew that!” Well, of course you do. It’s pretty basic and instinctive. The question that needs to be asked is why haven’t you put it into practice?

It’s Not About YOU, Silly!

Let me share a nugget of wisdom... It’s not about you! You see, finding and tapping into markets takes a shift in thinking. It’s a simple shift, really, and it is quite literally this:

Solve People’s Problems!!!

When you search for and find problems that need a solution you have identified a demand. THIS IS A MARKET!

To fill the demand you simply need to find or produce a product that solves the problem and get it in front of the people who need it or want it. BUT, this is where most people fail. They do it backwards and start with products.

I said to a class I was giving just last night, “If you spent 90% of your time researching markets and 10% building websites to go after them, you’d be on the right path.” What’s amazing to me is that people do it the other way around. Can you imagine if pharmaceutical companies spent only 10% of their effort on research? Whoa, that’s a scary thought, isn’t it?

Here’s what it boils down to. Successful marketers make the time to research their target market, identify profitable areas, pinpoint the best keywords, and then create a plan to go after the market. While they are doing their research, what’s most on their mind is solving people’s problems.

My 7-Step Sales Crushing Success Plan

Ah, here it is, the information you’ve been waiting for... how the other guy does it. Well, it might disappoint you to know that I’m not going to recommend a Cash Inferno, Google Crushing Machine of one sort or another. I don’t believe in them. We all need tools to do our job, this is true, but we don’t need an excuse.

I read a news report the other day about an interview with Warren Buffet – you know, one of the richest men on the planet – and he said that if he lost his fortune today he could be a millionaire again in a matter of a year. What does that tell you?

Okay, let’s get to work. Here’s my 7-Step Plan:

STEP 1 – I use a tool called Market Samurai to help me sift through a mountain of keyword data related to a niche market so I can verify that demand exists and that I can successfully compete. Let’s face it, if you are building niche market websites you are in the search marketing business. That means you must learn how to do keyword research. That’s what Market Samurai is for.

It boils down to four simple, measurable, keyword factors: relevance, traffic, competition and commercial viability. If you focus on these four measurable attributes of keywords, you will unlock the #1 secret of successful online marketers. Market Samurai is the best tool I have found to date to do this research. Trust me when I say it’s “the best,” because I have use all of the good ones at every price point.

STEP 2 – I research and choose a profitable domain name. A lot of people rush in and snap up any old domain name, but not me. Once you have discovered and verified a market, the domain name you choose is the most important decision you will make. So don’t make the decision in haste.

Domain names should be chosen as a brand-able asset or as a website discovery tool. When you are building niche websites for Internet marketing, you need your website to be discoverable. The best way to do this is to use a domain name that is the same as or includes your most important keyword phrase.

The problem is, for all good markets, you’re not likely to get the exact domain name you want. So, what do you do? I personally don’t go the stupid route and buy a .info, .org or .biz type domain. Domain names of value are .com. Period!

STEP 3 – I host my new domain name and use WordPress to build my website. Here’s the thing, though, I build content based websites, not blogs. That’s okay, because WordPress is a fantastic content management system and its blogging features really help attract the search engines.

Here’s the secret that most people miss completely. I create great content for my new website that is based on the keyword research I conducted for my niche market. This typically consists of three to five well-written articles that address the problem related to the keyword phrase. Each article is typically 750 to 1200 words long. In other words, it’s pretty meaty. I include a few photos and videos, as well, and make sure to follow good search engine optimization (SEO) guidelines throughout.

STEP 4 – Once my initial content is ready, but not until then, I submit my new website to Google, Yahoo and Bing for indexing. This is very simple to do using the search engine webmaster tools and a site map. I create the site map with a WordPress plugin that does it for me automatically.

I don’t stop there. Measuring the traffic, including the source and the search terms used, is very important to my overall success model. So, at the same time that I submit my site for indexing, I also add it to my Google Analytics account and install a real-time statistics plugin.

STEP 5 – I start answering questions. Remember I said earlier that your job is to solve people’s problems? Well, now is your chance. It’s as simple as creating posts that answer people’s questions related to your niche. This one step bring search engine traffic like crazy. In fact, the search engines can’t resist it.

If you don’t know how to do this, it’s really simple. Take your three to five keyword phrases over to Yahoo! Answers and use them as a search phrase. Do you see all of the posts – most of them questions – related to the phrase? These are the questions people have about the problem or product. With this you have everything you need to begin solving people’s problems.

STEP 6 – I create a shopping catalog for my visitors. I do this because people who use Google to search for a solution to their problem are already in a buying mode. I don’t know what stage of the buying mode they are in so it’s important to give them as many tools as necessary to make their decision. A good catalog is one of them. For this I use Plugin Shops for WordPress.

As Internet marketers our job is not to convince anyone to make a purchase. Our job is to provide information and remove the barriers between the buyer and the purchase. In other words, you take away the objections. The shopping catalog remains as the number one shopping paradigm online.

STEP 7 – I create quality, factual, honest product reviews for the products that I recommend and many of the products I don’t recommend. Both are equally important.
There are ten significant elements that must be in every product review if you want it to be successful. When you include them, your product reviews will work magic.

That’s all there is to it. That’s my 7-Step Plan, and it works! If I have done everything correctly, the website will begin generating income in less than thirty days and will hit its stride in about six months. If I do minimal maintenance three or four times a year, it will continue to bring income for a long time.
