I use HostGator for all of my hosting and I noticed they had a thing to try out Attracta for free so I decided to give it a shot. To put it lightly, I will never use Attracta again and I would never consider paying for their services.

The immediately messed up my robots.txt file and I went from ranking #6 for my main keyword (on Internet Marketing For Newbies) to ranking in the 50's. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why this had suddenly happened and after a few weeks I couldn't figure out why I wasn't recovering even after I continued to work on the site like I had been before.

After a while I noticed SeoQuake was showing "no" for robots.txt and I took a look at it. It pointed to Attractas site where it claimed my robots.txt was located but actually just showed a file that claimed my original file was an unreadable XML file.

I deleted all of my sites from Attracta after that. I went through and rebuilt my robots.txt file by hand then copy and pasted it through the other sites I'd added to Attracta.

It's been 2 days since I fixed my robots.txt file and I've jumped from roughly #52 to #34 and I expect it to continue its way back to page 1.

My real point here is, don't forget to add your robots.txt file. Without mine, my site bombed.
