Last evening, in between bad weather and hot weather, I worked toward the final configuration of Site No. 4. I continued to verify my list of steps and realized that although this was the third time I had set up this type of site, I had still missed making note of some key steps along the way . . . kind of sloppy really . . . I noted the steps and thought more about whether someone else could follow them and I think I did a better job this time. Anyway there are still a few more "customizations"...

So, now as the end of the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter morning comes, I have reviewed the activity for the last two months. It has been hectic and rewarding, confusing and enlightening all at the same time. A list of to do's is a necessity in the IM business. Without it chaos takes over so quickly that you really can become discouraged and want to quit. I don't plan to quit so I've become organized instead. I have also learned that measures are important. How much traffic, how many clicks,...

Well, the last site went up very quickly. I have not configured it as yet so it still is technically not ready for visitors. However, I stuck to my list of todo's and it took me 45 minutes as opposed to three hours the last time. My list works! This is really my goal, to establish a routine that works for me and to cut down on my confusion, so that I don't wreck what is already working. So does this make number 5? If not the next site will. Ok, Happy Saturday night!

Last night I worked on finishing the setup of Wordpress site no. 4. What did that involve? Basically, setting up the link to the paypal account, finishing the autoresponder settings, completing the contact email setup, and yes, of course, checking the box that says, let the search engines find the site. This was a lot of work. I'm starting all over again and starting site no. 5. tonight. I think I am finally on a roll.

One thing I learned is how easy it is to forget simple setup instructions and to loose a sense of where you are in the process. What does this mean? It means that you need your own check list and set of instructions that make sense to you when you get ready to set up a site no matter how many times you've done it before. It also means that you have to have a place to keep those instructions so that you can find them when you get ready to work on the site so that you can see where you left off!...
