Ok, Happy Saturday night!

Last night I worked on finishing the setup of Wordpress site no. 4. What did that involve? Basically, setting up the link to the paypal account, finishing the autoresponder settings, completing the contact email setup, and yes, of course, checking the box that says, let the search engines find the site. This was a lot of work. I'm starting all over again and starting site no. 5. tonight. I think I am finally on a roll.

One thing I learned is how easy it is to forget simple setup instructions and to loose a sense of where you are in the process. What does this mean? It means that you need your own check list and set of instructions that make sense to you when you get ready to set up a site no matter how many times you've done it before. It also means that you have to have a place to keep those instructions so that you can find them when you get ready to work on the site so that you can see where you left off!...

You may wonder why I am sticking with building 5 sites in order. The truth is that I'm building on the skills I learn and repeat each time I build a new site. In sites 1, 2 and 3 I have discovered that wordpress is handy for a lot more things than I first thought. Also it is easy to link to my sites to encourage visitors to travel between the sites. I know that for some of you this is not new but for me these are like learning how to ride a bike. Anyway, Site number 4 is starting this weekend. I...

Ok, slowly but surely, the sites are coming along. I am beginning to invest more into the sites than in learning how to do the sites. This is a giant step forward in my thinking. It's really all about just doing it after all! I know that in many other areas, but I'm slowly learning it in IM! This weekend after my other night job, I'll stand up a site that I have the hosting and domain name ready to go but I didn't have a plan. Now I have a plan and ads and content, just have to put it together....

So, as I continue to learn (cause that really is what is going on here), I find that the simplest ideas are the hardest to remember. It is a good idea to post but apparently for the information hungry internet surfer it is a bad thing to for information to seem "old". Is information ever really old? Oh well, the next thing that I have learned this week is that dates on blog posts can be a turn off for the information hungry. I personally am not put off by dates on posts but apparently...
