10 steps to success...

As I was sitting at my computer this morning, it occured to me that things finally started taking off when I changed my mindset and habits.
For years it was the same old routine over and over. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't achieve the success that I sooo desired.
After taking a good look at what I was doing every day to hold me back, I made a conscious effort to change those things.
Here is a list of what I feel has helped me move forward and get out of my "rut":
1. Turn off the TV!
I am like many others when it comes to watching my favorite shows...the thought of missing a 'Lost' episode kills me!
What I did was DVR the shows I absolutely loved and weeded out the rest. I choose one evening to watch them and fast forward through the commercials. You could even take it one step further and get rid of the TV altogether, (I know some people who do), and attain your goals just that much quicker.
2. Get organized!
Everyone has different comfort levels of organization. For me, uncluttering my work space helped to unclutter my mind. Do what works for you.
3. Delete those emails!
How many lists are you on? A lot, I bet. While many of those emails contain great information and are a good study reference for your own email marketing campaigns, I found it best to opt out of most of mine and only keep the best ones.
4. Focus!
Information overload--we have all experienced it. Now is the time to make a decision and stick with it. To start, choose one idea and one marketing method and STICK WITH IT! It is so easy to get distracted and many people move on to something else right before they see success. Don't let this be you.
5. Help others!
Stop thinking about how you can help yourself and start thinking about you can help others. Your mind will develop a whole new way of seeing opportunities, some which were always staring you right in the face!
6. Keep a notepad handy at all times!
This is something people rarely talk about, but is so important. Before I started writing ideas down on my ever-present notepad, some of my best thoughts were lost forever. You never know when inspiration will strike, so keep one by your bed, in your car, by the computer, and anywhere you go on a daily basis.
7. Keep a positive attitude!
It is easy to get discouraged when things don't work out the way you want, but by keeping a positive attitude, you will always come out on top. Just remind yourself that your failures are learning experiences.
8. Visualize success!
This is VERY important. Visualize what you want out of life and where you want to be in one year, five years, etc. When you see something in a magazine such a house you want or a vacation you want to take, tear the page out and put it up on your "success wall". Look at these pictures every day and night and REALLY picture yourself achieving these dreams.
9. TAKE ACTION!!!
Enough said.
10. Never, EVER give up!
Success takes time. It does not happen overnight. Anyone who tells you it does is full of it. Work hard. Work smart. Don't give up.
I hope this little bit of motivation helps someone. I know these are things I have been living by for the past year and it has really changed my whole outlook on life and success. If anyone ever needs a pep talk, feel free to PM me anytime!
