Is Offline Marketing an Online Business?

That question recently came up during a discussion with a friend after reading comments from people online like "I've never made any money online before but now I have several offline clients."

So, after reading similar comments, the conversation turned to whether or not these folks had real online businesses. It is something to think about since most of us want to make money online for the freedom of a job as well as the money.

Maybe it depends on how you get and secure your offline clients. If you solicit business online, and close your clients by phone or the web, then it probably qualifies as an online business.

If you get up most days and go out to meet clients, that's an outside sales business (or job) depending on how you are structured.

By the way, no disrespect to anyone making money using offline strategies. It was just an open discussion about the topic.

The general conclusion is that it can be both depending on how you work. But, I would certainly challenge the idea that you have an internet business if you meet with people all day.
