Retrospective and Perspective

It's amazing how internet marketing has changed over the years. Tasks that took weeks to do can now be done within minutes with software. Costs of production have also been drastically reduced. I remember my first website and audio cost me over $6000. That's Frightening! Today the same website, with additional audio and video can be created for under $1500.
There are also vast markets emerging - ones like marketing to local businesses, mobile marketing, social media marketing, etc. These markets were not even conceived 7 or 8 years ago.
So what does this all mean? For me it means a fantastic 2012 as I now have the ability to put more focus on building an online business. There are too many opportunites available online to just sit back and watch it all pass by. But, in order to succeed, you need to focus. Choose one or two options and drive deep.
So my focus for 2012? The hot markets - mobile marketing and local businesses. What's yours?
