Branding: A must try

A major reason by which we can draw attention of viewers to our blog is by promoting our blog. If you consider promotion of your blog as you do it for any other product, it will succeed for sure! Branding is a major factor that helps your blog to gain targeted audience. Of course, there are other reasons too to make this a success; we need to create some useful content as well. However, branding is something that really helps us to fly.
Many of you like me would be careful to think of your blog or scripting it as a “product” or anything commercial. And that is perfectly OK as we all are suspicious of slick advertisements and believe in being sincere and more focused towards our writing, which is true and understandable! Even I am the same.
However, these advertisements work on the mere fact that they understand the way a human mind works! So, if such technique is used to promote something ‘fake’, it can also be used to promote something ‘worthy’. Branding could be done for noble cause too. Some of the best NGO’s like Red cross and UNICEF have used it too. So branding does not mean you are being fake, it simply means that you are being smart in promoting your blog- the right way!
You need to create a consistent communication with the bloggers or your readers. Moreover, everything you write on your blog or write as guest posts need to send the identical message. Be careful that the message you send through your blog does not contradict to your behaviour. Branding your blog would be the best decision you make for your blog, but keep in mind to make a positive impact of your words.
Be particular about the title and subtitle of your blog. And if your blog is about simplicity then keep it simple. If it is about life, make it colourful. Be sure about what content you are writing as it can weaken your brand image. Being a blog writer, I will never write something negative in my blog or my comments that can harm my brand’s image no matter what negative comment I am replying to! Guest post is the most important branding you do, so just keep check on your words each time you are posting as core message on behalf of your blog. Lastly, I would say social media is the best way to get your brand out there to new readers, though only some would be attracted to your blog- but they would likely be the one of the same interest level.
Let us have a look into some simple concepts of Branding and the correct use of them to promote our blog and other way as your website, magazine or your book.
1. Find out your target audience:
Before you get started with your blog, you need to figure out- Whom you want to attract towards your blog. Moreover, whom you want to help with this blog? It would be better if you are precise with your targeted audience, make this clear in your mind be it working couples, parents or students.
2. Be consistent in your message:
If your message is conflicting to what you say it will affect your brand. If you are trying to send a message of peace and love, do not be offensive to your readers in the comments.
3. Find out the topic that touch the cords:
Every reader coming to your blog will visit by a purpose. You should make it certain to fulfil their need by serving them the right amount of the details. Someone may be seeking mental peace, while some will visit for some beauty tips while others may come to seek tips on success and growth. You need to figure out what would be the topic that you will help them deal with. You need to do what you feel passionate towards, what you really want to pen down and you want to share that with the world.
Finally yet importantly, I would like to let you know that no matter how much you focus on branding, if your writing does not have the quality- branding will not work for you! Not all things we have already discussed about branding might sound great to some bloggers and they might thing this as manipulative or an utter useless commercial thing. However, this might be useful for some. In addition, I would like to add that you need not to write about the topics that you are not comfortable with, or are not in your interest area. You must write what attracts you, write what you want to!
