First Time Building a List - Here is what I learned

I've been paying for traffic with google, facebook, and even admob. Right now they see a little lead magnet [ which im trying to build more of] just to see what works...
So if you do what I'm doing then here is what you can expect. Keep in mind I'm no guru... I'm just trying to build a list here... the numbers break down like this.
100 dollars spent...
60 optins...
so I'm running about 1.60 an optin... which personally I think is horrible... but the way I figure... I spent thousands... of dollars trying to learn this stuff... and I didnt build a list.... so now at least im spending and learning... and gaining what potentially could turn into some cash down the road... and I would have made my first amount of money online this way.
Currently I do SEO with one client... and that earns me a decent living... no lambo yet though.
If any one is reading this and wants to buy some optins from me... let me know, just trying to offset some cost....
