A Blessing in Disguise

One day after work I took my motorcycle to the race track and broke my collar bone in a terrible accident that could have killed me.

Over the following months I bought many home business magazines and searched endlessly online for an opportunity that could allow me to earn enough income to pay my bills.

At the time I was a construction worker so I relied 100% on my body to earn a living. That's all I knew, and I was good at it but when I was forced to take 3 months off I from an injury it made me reconsider ever going back.

I made a decision that if I found a better way that I would pursue it and find a way to make it work no matter what. My goal was to replace my income before I absolutely had to return to my construction job. That didn't exactly happen as planned but I kept putting in the work when I would get home from my day job.

I would work 8 hours a day at my job and come home and put another 5 hours into developing the skills necessary to achieve success in this entirely different world called "marketing & sales". Who would have thought that's what I was actually getting into at the time.

I thought it would be a lot easier and I thought I would have started making great money in a much shorter amount of time but the learning curves forced me to dig deep. They forced me to take responsibility for my results weather bad or good. They forced me to confront my fears and step out of self limiting beliefs and comfort zones. This industry challenged me in ways I look back at now and am thankful.

At the time I broke my collar bone all I could see was the pain and financial burden I caused myself.

As I look back today, it was truly a blessing in disguise because that was the time in my life when I really reflected the most on what I was doing for a career and what direction I wanted to head in the future. That's when I made the decision to find a better way and stop at nothing once I found it.
