One of my very first website flips was lucky, I was sitting at a bar with a few friends over hearing a conversation with a local business owner. He was saying he wanted some tools to supplment his tire business, normally I would offer my web services to him, but he already had a website. He wanted some type of marketing strategy.
I decided to make a move, and went to the bar to grab a drink and just said confidently, “I have a website that has traffic to it that discusses the tire industry, you can use that website to push your business”. He instantly was interested, so i gave him my card and told him I will give him a call in a few days.
That night I went home, quickly did some research on what new tires are coming out in 2006, and then put together an HTML site over the next two hours. I made a unique logo, made the site geographical based, meaning, the name was, newyorktires.com (just example). I placed a newsletter together, with 3 autoresponder series setup. Over the next three hours I put the content on the website. Quickly took that content and placed it on many article directories.
Then three day laters, the site received 10-15 unique views, nothing big, but was established. I sat down with the gentlemen with a presentation on the website. Showed how the content was organized and how the autoresponder worked. I showed how he can market within his autoresponder.
An hour and a half later, I had a check for $1,000 in my hands for eight hour of total work.
