About a month ago I was thinking about making more money. My regular job is a commission based sales position. The company has two big pushes during the year. One in the Spring, and the other in the Fall. The worst time in the year is in the Winter, because the lead count drops way down. And no appointments means no sales, which means no income. So I started to look for ways to make money online to supplement the income from my regular job. As I searched Google I was bombarded with hundreds of websites promising thousands per month with little or no work at all. And being the easy sell that I am, I started signing up for many of these websites; and also for the upgrade. I was eager to start making money online. But one of the things I had read about was the percentage of those who actually did make a profit; a measly 3%. That means most of the people who sign up for these things will not make money.
One of the sites that I signed up for was advertised as a complete turn-key system. Everything was set up for me; all I had to do was drive traffic to the squeeze pages. (A squeeze page is a single webpage designed to get you to act by entering your email address.) I signed up for Safelists and Traffic Exchanges to promote the website. It worked like this; I would look at other affiliate ads to earn credits that I could use for my ads. Then I would use my credits to send out ads for my product. I had high hopes at first, but then I found myself sitting at the computer all day clicking email to earn credits. And if I missed a day my inbox would have well over two hundred emails. All that work was yielding no income. In fact, I was only able to sign up just two leads in three weeks. The total commission for those two conversions was $3.60, although I had spent over $300 by now. I thought to myself, "somethings not right." Because when I saw an ad for a product or service that I thought I could use, I clicked on it, signed up, and went for the upgrade. I had just spent more money. It got so bad that I was forgetting which sites I had actually signed up for. I purchased software programs that I don't even use. Then I would forget to write down my login information for some of the sites. It was all getting very frustrating.
As you can see by now I have a lot to learn about Internet Marketing. Things will get better though. In my next article I will update you on what I am doing in the area of Internet Marketing. ******************* MDWsellz.com - Home
