Email Marketing Tips

For some reason, I have been worried about sending emails to people on my lists. Not so much the non-IM lists, I send those folks emails every day. I get great click through rates (30-40 percent) and people sending me thank you notes.
But in IM, I have been hesitant about sending them out. Lately, with my wife's condition, it has been a little difficult to think about marketing, but she's better now, so that is a very good thing.
So when its time to send an email, I make up this whole scenario in my mind about what people are going to think if I send them a marketing email. I don't know why, I don't send junk, I know I am a good writer, but there is still that kind of uncertainty about doing it.
Today i decided that not only would I send an email out to with a great but time limited offer in it from a guy with a great reputation, but I would write about the experience on my blog, so I did both those things.
You may or may not have read the email, but here is the blog post:
Email marketing best practices
Maybe some of my own experiences could be something that a lot of folks think about. I don't know. What i do know is that today, I feel a lot better for actually sending the email out instead of second guessing myself.
