If you want to get in to internet marketing and not sure where to start, it can seem pretty daunting. With all of those courses, eBooks, newsletters out there, you can suffer from information overload, which is a common problem, before you even begin.

So how do you know where to start, or more importantly, which services, people and information to trust? My suggestion would be to take the advise and guidance from a proven successful internet marketer. If an internet marketer is successful they will want to make it very clear to you, so that you know they can be trusted. After all, how can someone who is not successful teach you how to be successful when they have not achieved anything themselves?

Now, I would say I am a semi successful internet marker, because I have made money through the internet, but not hundreds of thousands of dollars like the really successful ones have. But I am relatively new to internet marketing and still learning myself.

The two most important factors to becoming successful on the internet, is start building a list of subscribers and create your own products.

This is how I suggest you get started on line. You can even do it for free to begin with if you wish.

1. Start a blog. This will get you used to writing content. To begin with, you don't even need to focus on a particular niche or subject. Just write about yourself, your family, job, pets, hobbies and interest etc. Add a sign up box to your blog, so that you can start getting a list of subscribers from day one. Make a post at least twice a week, more frequently if you can. You will soon start to get traffic to your blog naturally from the search engines. Use your blog to promote products as an affiliate. Clickbank and paydotcom are a good source for products that you can promote.

2. Now that you have a website and are building a list of subscribers, and promoting other peoples products, you should start to think about creating your own product. Again, this can be on anything you wish. If you do not know what to do, look back at your blog. Is there a recurring subject you are writing about? Is there a particular hobby you are passionate about? This can be the basis of your product. It's best that your first product simply be an ebook. As you have already started creating content by means of your blog, you will find writing an ebook easier than you think.

3. Now you have a product to sell, you need to market it. Firstly you will need a sales page, and preferably graphics for your sales page.

4. Once you have a sales page, you have a website (url) to promote. You do this by means of marketing such as submitting an article just like this one you are reading now, add a link to your product on your blog, tell your list of subscribers about it, just to mention a few ways to market your product. Of course there are many more methods, but these are the simplest, and as a beginner, it's a good place to start.

Now for me, I am at the posting at least twice a week to my blog, and in the middle of creating my first product. But where did I learn to do all of this? I learnt from a proven and successful internet marketer called John Thornhill. I wouldn't at all be surprised if you have heard of him. Just about a year ago, he started a coaching program which I joined, and he showed the complete beginner how to get stared, using the methods I have talked about above and I have not looked back since.

Now John is starting another mentorship course called his masterclass, and I highly recommend it if you are at a loss as to where to start or how to start. I have written about if on my blog, www.marcsampson.com

I know that soon I will be able to pack up my full time job, and become a full time internet marketer just like John is today.
