I haven't been a member of WF for very long, only for about a month, and I must say that it can be a pretty overwhelming place. I can't even imagine what it must be like for someone new to affiliate marketing.

It reminds me of a smorgasbord; so much of everything, you want to take a little bite of it all even when you know it isn't good for you to take in so much.

I've seen some great helpful advice given in this forum. I've also seen some really questionable stuff put forth too.

I think the best way to discern whether or not the advice being given is helpful or potentially hurtful is to ask the person giving the advice whether or not they have actually tested what they are saying themselves. Now if they say, "No, but my cousin Billy Bob's sister-in-law's brother does it that way," you know you'd better stay clear.

Also, ask yourself if the person giving the advice have an ulterior motive? What I'm trying to delicately say is are they trying to sway you to partake of a WSO they are offering with their advice?

There are lots of great sales pages put up by fantastic copywriters in Warrior Forum to convince you to buy products, but make sure the product really fits a particular need that you have at the moment. Just because something is the latest and greatest offering doesn't mean that it's something you need right now. Thinking you need every last WSO that comes a long is a good way to empty your bank account fast.

I've also seen many screenshots of Clickbank and other earnings as part of WSO sales pages. Again, be cautious of this. Most folks are ethical and will show you the real thing, but be aware that inserting a little bit of javascript into your browser allows you to edit any web page you'd like and take a screen shot.

Above all, it you're new to affiliate marketing, take what you learn here and implement it. If you are going to buy a WSO, read it and take action to incorporate it into your marketing plan.

It's all too easy to waste hours reading forums and hypothesizing and waxing philosophically on what works and what doesn't without actually taking any action.

Post to your blog; submit an article; bookmark it; comment on some other blogs and get yourself some back links. Limit yourself how long you will spend time in forums. You can learn a lot in the right forums, but they can be a tremendous drain on your time.

Be discerning; use your time wisely, and you will get a lot of great free information from forum members without breaking the bank.
