Don't you hate it when you spend all your time trying to get fantastic results from your affiliate marketing campaigns and then something terrible happens and all your efforts just reduces to nothing?

Well let me tell you a story. Its about an Affiliate Marketer - Joe (Not his real name). He found a product he was interested in so he signed up as an affiliate to promote that product.

He created his own promotional materials (Articles, reviews, and even paid outsourcers to create some videos).

He then injected his affiliate links into all his promotional materials and distributed them all over the internet.

He then sat back and waited to see the commissions coming in but there was nothing.

He became curious and decided to checkout some of his promotional stuff online.

His articles and videos where very nicely ranked but the problem he found was that the vendor of the product had pulled out his product from the market for some reason.

So now he had all these articles, reviews, and videos doing really well but all the links to the target site are all dead.

Has this happened to you too?

If yes, what did you do? Do you go back and start hunting all your articles , reviews and videos to change the affiliate links?

That will be pretty frustrating to do isn't it?

What would have been the best thing for Joe to do in the first place?

Well! to start with, never connect un-controlled affiliate links directly to the vendors site.

Use softwares or plugins that will allow you to cloak and control your affiliate links.

If Joe did this then all he will need to do is go into the control panel of his cloaking software or plugin and simply change the target url to an alternate but similar product and all his links will still be able to bring him some commissions.

Also you should always drive traffic from your promotional material to your squeeze page so that you can capture the email of your prospects first before sending them off to the vendor.

If Joe did this then all he would have done to fix his problem would just be a few edits on his autoresponder follow-up messages.

Ok, that will be it for this article.
