Keywords are still all important
There are a lot of keyword checkers out there, most of them are free. Some of them give you a lot more data than others. Some give you many suggestions from input; others check your competition so you can find out where you stand.
Here are so that I have found quite useful.
1# - digital point's rank-checker
With this one, you can (don't have to) insert a snippet of code and away you go. You can look up ANY website and see where they stand with yahoo. This is pretty important since Yahoo finally caved in and sold to Google. Like I said b4, pretty soon Google will own Everything and they will BE big brother.
2# - Another Digital point tool - This utility can be used to check search engines (currently supporting Google, Yahoo and MSN) for search engine ranking and track those ranking historically, this is critical when marketing your website(s).

3# - word tracker - Not free but you get a free trial period of 7 days so if you get busy you can end up with a PILE of Very useful data and not pay their high fee. Don't downlaod it until you are ready to spend a lot of time using it!

This tool will analyze your chosen URL and return a table of keyword density values for 1, 2 or 3 key terms. In an attempt to mimic the function of search engine spiders, it will filter out common stop words (since these will probably be ignored by search engines anyway). It will also STOP you from getting penalized for keyword stuffing which will totally ruin your rankings.
5# - seocentro - This is a great FREE tool you use online. Give you fast data. It gives you the numbers of competing pages and they are clickable in a *drill-down* manner. The site also has a good rank checker too.
