Introduction to Information Marketing

Information marketing is at it's simplest description “the procedure for selling information”. Which seems simple enough, correct? But how exactly does that work within the internet-based online business?
Well, to begin with, we should figure out what sort of information we are referring to here. Ordinarily, it is information which serves to educate and, hopefully address an issue that a potential consumer might be having.
As an illustration:
- Assisting a busy professional methods to lose weight.
- Teaching a single mother how to make extra income.
- Helping a couple to prevent a divorce or separation.
The info is usually delivered electronically (digitally) by way of eBooks, membership sites, audio and video downloads. It’s a multi-billion-dollar industry, many times over, and it has produced millionaires such as Dan Kennedy, Yanik Silver, and Frank Kern, to mention only a few.
Exactly why is info marketing attractive?
Internet marketers are generally attracted to the low barriers to entry, high income, hands-off management, and quick time-to-market. An information marketer can dream up a product or service one day and launch it overnight, seeing a return on their investment pretty much instantly.
Although it’s easy to become an information marketer, carrying it out successfully is another matter. Many bright-eyed would-be millionaires dive in to the industry, hoping to seek out the magical streams of gold, much like the 49’ers in the Gold Rush of yore.
On this blog, I am going to reveal a number of more common pitfalls in which information marketers can easily fall into, and also offer tips concerning how to be among the fortunate – and hard-working – few that strike it rich.
