If you own a small business, blogging is a great way to become part of an active community that revolves around your products and services. Networking has always been and will always be key to staying informed and up-to-date in your niche, whatever it is. In the old days, networking consisted of phone calls, community meetings and activities that were all face-to-face. These days, however, the globalization that has taken place over the past two decades has changed this landscape somewhat. Now, networking consists of blogging, forums, video conferencing and the like. If your small business is to succeed, you would do well to be an active part of your niche community because it will help you to stay updated and competitive. Staying updated will help you maintain an elevated level of activity. Being able to share updated information with your peers will help build your reputation as a resource. New and helpful information that your receive or uncover would be broadcasted to your readers through your blog, which could act as a portal for your small business. Having a website makes your resources convenient and goes a long way to help build your business into a brand. What type of site would look better to you as a visitor, a static site or a continuously refreshed site that is constantly churning out fresh useful, up-to-date content?

Post regularly. Posting regularly is not difficult. A basic blogger can easily churn out one 500 word blog post per day. The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) benefits of regular blogging abound. Search engines love fresh content even if it is a fresh perspective on an old subject. Posting regularly means that your site will be crawled and indexed regularly. Sites with fresh content are served more regularly to search engine visitors. New blog posts and articles posted to blogs on unique and informative subjects can quickly and consistently rank highly in search engine results....
