Think The Google Slap Doesn't Exist? Think Again!

We have all heard of the dreaded "Google Slap" or the famed "Google Sandbox Effect". Do these things really exist? In webmaster and SEO forums you will see threads started where fledgling webmasters have applied all of the questionable (in terms of ethics) techniques to their sites that are pushed on such forums with the hopes of "launching" their "new" site to the top of the search engine results pages, only to run into a brick wall, so to speak.

How does this happen? How can progress be seemingly halted for a website that is gaining ground so rapidly? The answer is simple. There is a "slap" and there is a "sandbox effect" that must be recognized and respected by webmasters.
