Also they may just be scammers and take your money and run. Or they may use some “black hat” software methods that could get you removed from any search engine results. The best thing to do is do some research on any third part company you are looking to hire for your SEO strategy. There are many honest company out there.


4. Some things YOU just do not need to do.

You don’t need to submit your site to thousands of search engines. Any companies who offer this service are suspect, at best. 85% of the search results on the Internet come from one search engine, which, if you have one link from an established website, or better yet, a directory, will find your site just fine, on it’s own. Four (4) search engines account for over 90% of the traffic on the web. Don’t bother with the rest they are a waste of time because they get very little traffic.


5. SEO is not Pay-per-Click.

No one would argue that a well planned pay per click plan can increase your traffic and sales but the conversion rates are normally low and once your money stops so does the web traffic. With a well executed SEO campaign results will last longer and continue to produce web traffic long after the work is completed and paid for. If your site is optimized correctly you will only have to do minimal adjustments on a on going basis, mostly related to any new content to continue to get search engine traffic.
