3 Things I've Learned About Motivation

You have dreams. You want to achieve those dreams, preferrably within this lifetime.
One of the things that may be holding you back is a lack of "motivational" motivation.
What do I mean by "motivational" motivation?
Obviously if whatever is supposed to be motivating you to action isn't keeping you focused on your goal, at 100% concentration, that motive isn't very motivational.
This is what I've learned my motives must have to keep me focused and centered on taking action toward reaching my goals...
1. Passionate, eager excitement is a must.
If you're like me, you may need to be in a state of passionate and eager excitement before you will commit to taking action of any sort.
For me, whatever action I take has to really grab my interest and hold on tight.
2. There has to be a payoff.
You may also be like me in that, in order to take consistent action, whatever you aspire to do has to offer a "payoff" that is a combination of exciting, interesting, and fun...
... and it takes a lot of the above three things to genuinely motivate me.
3. Motive must not be boring.
The minute I grow bored with whatever I'm doing, pshwing! I'm outta there.
You, too? Yeah.
This is why I say your motivation (the thing that's supposed to motivate you to take consistent action toward the reaching of your goals) may not be motivational enough -- for you.
Think about it, and if you find (like I often do) your motive is lacking in the motivation department ... you may need to find a way to add some excitement and fun to your motive so you can refocus your interest in your goals.
