Hey guys So I am so damn stoked to share this with everybody. Firstly this won't apply to everyone, this is just something that really worked for me in my situation. That said I am sure the principal behind what I am saying can be applied to many other places. Now I run an online LED store in Australia and its done pretty decently over the years. Lately I was thinking about how to increase my conversion rate and I realized one key thing. Australia is a big place, people who live on the east side don't like to buy from the west. Our website used to always say "Australia's number one LED site" (something around that). After doing some testing, I realized, if people come to my site from the west coast, if my tag line reads "Perth #1 LED Store" (the main west coast city), they are much more likely to convert. In my case this increased my conversion rate 1-2% (which is big for me currently!) So I ended up using a really simple geo-targeting tool to change my tagline based on the location of the user coming to my site. I would highly recommend trying this trick, your users who visit your site feel much more confidence buying from you if you seem local. Not sure if I am allowed to link the tool here, if that's not allowed Ill take the link down. Till then you can find it at www.geolify.com , it was super easy to use. The only reason I used that was because my javascript skills are non existent and it seems that you need to know javascript in order to get user location. |

This is a really cool tip. something I am using and more of. I have found icegram.com has a wordpress plugin that does geo targeting as well. The base plugin is free and the geo added function is a poultry $9.00 for a single site. you will find other really nice add-ons such as exit intent pop-ups ( behavior triggers ) | |
