I notice you didn't mention your traffic source, or where your visitors are coming from. So I'll say this without really knowing that tidbit of info....

Looking at your website, the very first thing I notice that is absolutely killing your conversions is:

1.) Distractions - too many distractions, or elements, are on the page, all competing for your visitors' attention. If conversions is what you want, you have to eliminate nearly everything from the landing page that may distract your users from the action you'd like them to take.

Next, I notice other factors such as:

2.) Too Many Call to Actions - this kind of ties in with #1. There are too many elements, options and graphics competing for attention. People will wonder: "Should I watch the Harley Davidson video?" or "should I click the let's talk link?" or "maybe I should visit the recommended reading section...." etc, etc. Give them ONE direction to take, and optimize based on that (i.e. a landing page for each offer)

3.) The Site Popup - It's popping up before the visitor has a chance to peruse the page and see the value in the site. Plus, it has no call to action or explanation on it, so it just looks like something that needs added to an antivirus quarantine, or to be clicked off of and exited, instead of passing on an email address.

Advice: Although you have a lot going on--on the hompage, it still IS a homepage. So homepages can have different navigational options that lead to different pages, content, etc. BUT, you should create a separate landing page for each offer that you want to promote, if you are looking for conversions in particular. Try to remove many of the "click here" choices, and only send visitors to the best-selling products/most expensive/highest margins, etc, depending on what you prefer.

Hope that helps.

I would honestly completely redo this site. There is so much room for improvement I don't even know where to start really.

I suppose the biggest thing is you need to figure out what you want people to do on your site, and nudge them in that direction. I honestly don't even know what I'm supposed to do here. I'm assuming buy AMS oil, but it's just not very clear to the customer in my opinion. I'm being pulled in too many directions at the same time.

I would also have a strong headline and a clean eyepath (this gives direction to the user).

If you'd like, feel free to PM me and I can give some more detailed things that could help you out.

I've done conversion work for many big companies such as Expedia, The Boston Globe, Kobo Books, Firestone and more...

Hi, I watched your commercial. I found it to be informative. And something I would be interested in. As a matter of fact I was thinking this morning "Damn its time for me to take my car in for a oil change again." I don't like doing it so often. I did hear that with this line I would not have to change it so often. I love that. I get my oil changed at Fleet Farm which well known in the Wisconsin area. Can you tell me if that company sales this product? I would be willing to purchase it. Because there are some great benefits to this product.

The website is much too busy, don't even know where to start reading???

You need to reduce and simplify before you can even start sending traffic
to this website. You are asking for help with bass fishing when you line
is tangled. You have to untangle the line, then we can talk about bait,
casting and reeling them in.

Hi, here's the deal as I see it.

1. Your pop looks like it's got an ad on it telling me I can get 25% off. But it's not clear as to what I'm getting. Should I click the flashing ad that says get 25% off? Or should I enter my email? I don't know.

You need a CLEAR offer. 25% off is not going to get me to give you my email. An eBook of, the 7 dirty little secrets the oil industry is terrified you'll find out would get my attention.

2. I don't know what to do on your site. There are way to many things vieing for my attention all at once. It's not crystal clear what you want me to do.

3. There's so much flashy stuff going on everywhere that I start to wonder if your a scam site.

I would start over with a really clean, manly looking site with a lot more white space that gives me a clear thing to focus on and do.

Patrick

I agree with all the people above me.
The website looks too crowded, you need something simple. The web is going in the direction of "less is more", if you don`t believe me, just analyze the changes of the Google logo from the past years.
You need a more simple and modern template, the design you have right now is hurting my eyes. Get rid of that pop-up (it`s annoying) and placing videos on the home page is more 90s than Dr. Alban.
You have all the information, you just need a better packaging (remember that packaging helps with 50% if not more of the sales)

So...um...the little question nobody asked...

How's it working already?

Are you getting opt-ins?

Are you getting purchases?

Are people using the chat feature?

What do the numbers look like...visitors >> subscribers, visitors >> buyers?

This site reminds me of that wacky UK site...which (OMG, but it's SO UGLY!! ) converts.

My god...that website gave me AIDS. But, it`s so bad, that it`s actually good. (if any of what I`m saying makes sense)

See, the thing is, IT DOESN'T MATTER what you or I think about the site.

It converts.

The proof is in the pudding. Not "experts" heads. The answer is to test. With the actual target market...which we are not.

Which is why I want to know the OP's baseline performance.

Thanks to Jason for sharing this wacky site and asking the right questions. Learned something new today. Perhaps Lingscars.com's USP is its over the top wackiness which creates top-of-mind awareness in the car leasing industry??? (I wouldn't have guessed that it converts well w/o disclosure by Jason though )

Re: Increasing Conversion

What is a top customer worth to you?

Once you have that number,
what are you prepared to pay/give to get that customer/money?

From answering those questions comes who this ideal group of customers are and
what to offer them to start that ongoing relationship.

An example: You might find your big spending group are motor x riders with 2 stroke engines.

You'll find them on websites, forums, event news and on Facebook following the 10 competition riders.

So you are prepared to give away your smallest sample of the very best oil for free plus they pay for postage.

On the checkout page you offer more of the same oil.

Some will buy this.

Those who take that offer are given a chance to buy even more
and some will take you up on the offer.

Now you have buyers graded into 3 types based on their buying behavior.

This means you have identified bigger users so you can
offer them more oil more often than the rest of your buyers.

Same principle for other groups you identify as your ideal group.

To make this work you'll have to have special pages for these type of offers.

Best,
Doctor E. Vile
