I am about to run some banner ads on BuySellAds and am curious about how to set up conversion tracking. I will be using a landing page (a review page) that links to the offer. How do I track conversions down to the exact banner that was used? I get how it works with direct linking, but I don't understand how it works when you are using a landing page. My site is a WordPress site. |

It's an offer on PointClickTrack - a weight loss offer.

so you ask how to track conversion on your landing? or how to track click rate on banner set? if conversion on your site, set a specific traffic sourse (traffic from this banner), set goals in Google Analytics and track exactly conversion from this traffic source. Just Google "how to set smart goals analytics" or "how to set google analytics goals" it should help |

Google Analytics is a good option. However, you can also try Piwik. It is more robust and offers you complete control over your analytics. Try Piwik and you will be more happy.

I am promoting an affiliate offer - the conversion would be on the merchant's site, not on my site. So that's the rub here. There are three sites - 1) the site where my banner ad is 2) my landing page 3) the merchant site. How can I track conversions across all three sites?

A general way is to attach a unique sub ID to all your links and follow vadim1 with setting goals on google analytics. Example campaign called banner1: 1) Buysellad points to mywebsite.com?subId=banner1 2a) Your website, mywebsite.com, has google analytics with goals set up to count how many people visited and clicked on your offer based on the banner1 campaign. 2b) Your offer link should have a URL parameter attached like weightlossoffer.com?subId=banner1 I'm not familiar with PointClickTrack but most websites support URL tracking. |
