If you continue to send 100 more targeted people from a similar traffic source to a page converting at 20%, then you're likely to have around 20 sales. | |

Of course, the best time to calculate return on investment is after the campaign, when the number of leads captured and the number of dollars spent are no longer hypothetical.

Yes, 20 sales out of 100 leads means that you have got 20% conversion rate. If there has been 50 sales out of 100, it shows 50% conversion rate.

In general, yes. Don't be mistaken though, it doesn't necessary mean you will get 20 sales if you sent 100 people, even if they are targeted. You actually need a lot more traffic to get a more accurate conversion, like 500-1000.

hi again thanks all for your input. but i think you are right, i sent 300 so far, the same quality traffic...and still no sales on a lp that claims to have 20%. for some reason, conversion rates are never what they claim. i will even take 10% thanks |

I'm struggling to grasp exactly what you're asking/saying... But remember your traffic has a massive impact on your conversion rate. If you sent 300 tire-kickers to your landing page, then a zero percent conversion seems about right. Colm |

Depends on "WHAT" kind of conversion rate. Are you talking about traffic to leads Or Leads to buyers? Traffic to Leads 20% means. For every 100 clicks to your offer, 20 of them with opt-in. If your talking about buyers. For every 100 leads, 20 will buy if it's 20%. |

goodluck every getting 20% conversion rate with cold traffic for a product. The average is 1-2%. However if they are optins you can easily get a 20% conversion rate. you never specified. |
The best thing you can do is put yourself out there.

Don't forget, regardless of doing CRO, that a lot of your conversion rate will be determined by the quality of the traffic you are sending to your web page too. If you are generating junk traffic, they won't convert. I see this happen way too often for people running their own website business. But good traffic doesn't come cheap or easily!

If you seen someones stats at 20% they've done something special to get those numbers Either they've given away cool bonuses or the made the money via an event... like a webinar Or They emailed the buyers list. Hope this helps |

Avinash who is the guru of Google Analytic and anyone really who understands conversion will state that 3% is an average number (dependant on niche), 7% is an excellent number and anything above that is outstanding. I think to work around these numbers give you a realistic idea what you may have to spend (resources) to achieve profitability. Yes. If a product has 20% conversion rate then there is a probability that 20 people will buy the product if you send 100 people. But this depends upon what type of people you are sending, if you have a good relationship with your subscribers then hopefully you'll convert better, but if they are low quality then it might not work...

50% would be a crazy high conversion rate unless it was a fluke small sample size like you had two visitors and one converted, unless you're talking about a e-mail signups or something like that. 1% to 5% conversions on sales is pretty standard.

Yeah, you're not going to get 50% conversion rate in the sense of selling any product. A few years back, I managed a 42% opt-in conversion rate, which blew my mind. But the only way that was possible was with traffic from a very high quality email list who very recently purchased a similar product, along with a great bonus for opting in. Those rates are a fluke, not the norm. Sales conversion rates are always going to be much lower. |

Yes but there is one catch to it, say you are sending 100 clicks to a Clickbank offer (DIRECT LINKING) Even if the products conversion rate is %20 if the traffic did not pass through a squeeze page then that really does not mean much. 100 clicks should be based on 100 optins. In order words if the product converts at %20 and you redirect all optins directly to the product after they optin then that's where you start to measure your conversion rate. They become %100 Targeted once they optin. Someone visiting your site from a PPC ad does not make them Targeted. Always keep in mind, sales conversion rates are based on Targeted traffic. People that have committed to your offer (LEADS) |

It depends, there's leads that CONVERT to sales. Where the conversion rate would be 20% to lead, and then say 10% to close -- which would really be 0.5% sale close rate (I think) which isn't too high. Hope this helps!
