Don't Mess With a Copywriters' Money!™
Ha, nonetheless I wanted to share some success I had with you all... I had a client that owed me money for a few months worth of work. The client was "reputable" so I never questioned their a) willingness to pay, b) their ability to pay. Time goes on and I am asked to do more and more.
Then they go ice cold... nothing.
So I can't threaten to sue... that makes me look like an amateur.
I can't do anything dumb like crash their site...
But I want my money....
What to do...?
I basically used what I have been learning from you all through my regular "snooping" around here.
I wrote a "sales letter" style e-mail which basically told them I discovered that competitors were literally stealing their customers. Using what you folks have taught me, I wrote enough to arouse their curiosity.
I then let them know that I'd be available in about a week and a half to talk about it further, but if they settled the bill I'd consider hopping on the next plane to help them out.
it worked...
So, I am going to give these folks one last presentation and rid them from my life, I wanna thank you guys for the education!
Cheers, Laurence.
