Just Pulled Almost 4k Records from Junk Site, Need Help...

Hey There,

So I just pulled almost 4,000 user records (with email of course) from one of my "junk" sites, called Cover-Guru.com. I call it a junk site because I don't pay any attention to it. Purchased it a while back to run some SEO tests. It gets something like 1500-2000 uniques a month, which is nice I guess?

But I just noticed that it's collected over the last 2+ years almost 4,000 users, which is nuts! I can't tell if this is useless or found money (depends on the quality of the list and my capacity to pull money from it, I suppose.) Which is why I'm here posting...

I'd love some thoughts/suggestions/concerns on my capacity to pull money from this list? I'm not really into anything spammy, or selling the list. I'm happy to market to it with real and relevant offers. Any help is much appreciated!

Testing the list out will naturally flow from my efforts above.

You could restart that website up or create a new one and send an email out to the list sending them a new opt-in to whatever niche you want so you can seperate the active and interested people from the ones who arent.

Your site looks nice and peaceful.

How about adding a banner add onto it?

Or you can do some split testing of those banner ads?

It would be an interesting case study as well, besides getting some money.

I'm looking for a similar solution. I've inherited an opt-in list of over 18,000 subscribers to a self-help niche. The site owner recently passed away and all products and websites have since been taken down. I came into possession of the contact list during the dismantling. Unfortunately it's only email addresses and doesn't include other meta info (name, company, etc.). Any help would be grateful. PM me if you have any ideas you would like to share in private. Thanks!

Wow...18,000 email list! That's huge. You need to be able to use it wisely. Good luck for the fortune.

4,000 isn't huge and seeing as it's 4k that it seems have never been emailed and no relationship has been built they probably aren't worth much.

Get them into an autoresponder and send out a few test emails to see how they react.

Remind them who you are, where you collected their email, and why you are mailing them.

Send out some real value and try and build up some trust with them first.

If you get some positive responses and nice open and click rates it might be worth pursuing further.
