$5,000 Reward for whoever gets the most new sign ups for my social media website

I have a large website which needs to get more members who actively use the site. I am offering a $5,000 prize to whoever can get the most new members to sign up under their own account on the website. You will have to create a profile, invite friends, post links that are tracked to your account and so on. The warrior with the most new member sign-ups will get the prize. The website details are listed below. If you are interested email me at BuyersTap at g mail with your contact info and your profile username once you have created a profile on BuyersTap. The site is free and no cost to you for this chance to win some cash money. I am setting a minimum of 30 warriors who must take place in order for the prize to be valid. You can also leave your username as a reply to this post to be counted. Thanks

P.S Please direct all questions within this post so others can see the answers. I have the money in my account ready to go.

You can better place contest for 50$,100$ with a realistic target rather than work without a limit.

the contest isnt making sense , you have to give some limits .. number of members as a target. and meaningful amount of prize..

Who will be the judge of this contest and evaluate the winners? Have the members to invest something? There is no target and no time limit and prize money is a big amount which doesn't attract for a healthy competition. Please review your offer.

The site if up and running for me but you can't sign up.
This contest/challenge is missing important limits, rules, and regulations.
You can use $5000 to do an ad campaign.

This guy has the money but lacks the time for all the details that seem unimportant to him. He's got that CEO trait that says go do it and you get a $5,000 reward for bringing in the most people. Like Rowan in "A Message for Garcia" or whatever his name was.

This is not a contest. It's more like a competition or an incentive plan with ONE first place. Do the most and you get the reward without limits or targets - just go do it - give it your all. The problem with that is there is no guarantee that will be enough to beat the next guy so nobody is going to risk it.

Why not break it down to $2,000, $1,500, 1,000 and $500 so there are at least 4 winners for the same amount of money and put up a Leader Board so everyone knows where they stand. NOT everyone is as competitive as you, Sir! Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I get from reading this.

I agree. I vote that the "contest" be changed to thriftgirl62's suggestions, then perhaps I would be interested. but it looks like perhaps the contest will never happen since he hasn't replied since the initial post...?

Why not give a REAL GOAL... as in measurable... and rewards based on that.. like:

Get 50 friends to join, earn $25 , 100 friends, earn $60, etc..

ALSO...

some design advice for you...

the homepage doesn't look like a social network at all... try putting pics of members, member activity, etc..

this proves that it's nearly impossible to start a membership site from scratch unless you have a team of people genuinely interested in using it and generating the initial activity and then also inviting others to join.

secondly, this membership site is doomed to fail simply because it's not "niche" enough. the target market is too broad.. the purpose of the site fails to excite, and there is no apparent and obvious and "WOW" reason or benefit for anyone to stop using facebook long enough to even join

not trying to be rude at all, just saying from the average person's view.

that being said I love the idea of starting a social network based around bartering and trading items/services using a point system... great idea! Hope you succeed but you will need to work on the design first!

I agree with Jason and others,

It would have been better and "more realistic" to chop up the budget into smaller amounts.. most IM's don't have the luxury of high traffic, nor would they be interested if it's making them solid revenue each day..

I think it would be wise for people who want to enter contests to also read the contest guidelines and blurb in the sticky's. While I'm not so sure about the OP, I think some of the suggestions infringe on the legal requirements for a contest...
