Thought this might be fun :)

If you had to generate 1,000 subscribers in just 30 days, what would you do?

After we get some feedback, I'll share the main traffic strategies I've used this month to get OVER 1,000 subscribers.

I haven't tested that.

myself, it is simple.

LEVERAGE.

Find someone with a big list, and see if they can send their subscribers over to one or two of my offers.

Then again, you are going to have to work with them, or already know them and do some hard yards before they say yes...They arent just gunna say..."who they hell are you....oh well....sure!!"

Leverage is very powerful but, no matter who you are online.

I was actually referred to it the other day in a free WSO I signed up for. I have to confess, Kim, that I have not tried it yet so I cannot really comment on conversion, I'm afraid.

It was in the context of rapid list building. Buy some subscribers then do adswaps etc etc

If you don't have subscribers to swap with other list builders buy
solo mailings for as low as $25 per 100 clicks.

1000 subscribers in 1 month is easy with safe-swaps.com

In fact if you have enough money to spend you can get that in a day.

I'd start with buying some solo ads right here on WF. Send them to a squeeze page, add a good offer and there you go.

Depends on what you mean by "buying subscribers".

For example, if you're using solo ads and paid advertising, then that's hands-down one of the best ways to build consistent, predictable lead flow in your business.

1. Solo-ads
2. Free WSO's
3. Ad-swaps (if you already have say around 200 or 300 subscribers)
4. If you have good budget, you can set up a landing page and send PPC traffic to it.

I'd offer someting useful for free via a squeeze page and advertise it on every website that's likely to have an audience interested in it.

30 days is ample time to raise 1000 subs if the product is appealling and the marketing is effective.

I'd go the JV route. Create a high value offer, maybe something exclusive,
and offer it to a popular list owner (like you!) :)

I would suggest give a free WSO in Warrior Forum and make people enter their details to get the WSO. It would cost only around $25 and free WSOs are always a rage here.

This is not entirely true. Just about every Fortune 500 company buys leads. I have yet to hear of a mortgage broker that has never bought leads either.

Whether or not buying leads is good or bad really depends on your business model.

That would be a great way to go but the only problem with that method for a new guy would be getting the list owner to say yes.

If I had 30 days I would do exactly what you recommend but I would start off by trying to build up a relationship with the list owner.

I would first of all find out who the list owner I want to JV with is and then I would try and figure out where they hang out.

The places I have had success:

Forums
Facebook (if they have a fan page start there instead of blatantly sending a friend request)
Personal Blog
Business Blog
Contact Link
Twitter
etc. (be creative)

I just try to make sure I don't come off as another leech trying to simply get a solo ad and then move on. These people see tons of offers everyday so make sure you don't ask for a email promo right off the bat.

Just get to know them, talk to them and after a couple of conversations you might be able to easily get a yes out of them.

It has worked wonders for me and I still do this process whenever I am entering a new niche. This has helped be build tons of friends and business relations and the good part is that these relations aren't simply limited to one email promo.

Got confused between the two. The extra $5 is for having the autoresponders and webhostings and domain names. It is a rough estimate.

I'm not an advocate for buying lists. For one your fantastic product/offer/service is starting the positioning process spammy. All your hard work/effort/development you owe it to everyone involved to put your best marketing foot forward and start building trust the right way.

However, you asked what would you do and I'd start cheap with Facebook targeting. If your target audience is 25-35 year old males who list mountain biking, a love for travel and Italian food - Facebook can help you find them. Direct them to a landing page that ties their interests to your product and start working on your mailer (or whatever you're asking them to subscribe to).

I would do the squeeze page thing and go and rent an email list of 1000000 from the top email provider for your particular niche it will cost $30 to send an email to this many and its what the gurus use for high sales,sorry cant name list here as I would be lynched but thats what I would do and you would have 1000 responsive subscribers in hours in any niche.

I can think of several ways... But... There's a big problem if we go purely by the number - the quality of the list remains unspecified. Also, unless I am missing it, so does the budget. And by the way, what kind of niche are we talking about? I have a physical product (a particular one) with a list, and that product has earned me more than $32,000 till date (in more than 2 years)... And the list size has NEVER exceeded 500 from what I remember (the cumulation would be certainly less than 1,000) - even though I need to maintain the list for a pretty long time to complete my sparse email follow-up for the autoresponder chain...

So, if we are just growing a list for the purpose of growing a list then that's one kind of a story - but if we specify objectives, budget and list quality then the setting might change entirely. :)

EDIT: I know it is a "fun" thread and surely don't want to spoil the nice spirit, but at the same time wanted to put a small brake before some people start dreaming too much - just to put in the right perspective !!

I would have to say targeted solo ads would be the easiest way to get people to visit your page. You of course would need to make sure your page converts.

I was just about to post a thread asking the very same question. I have been researching solo ads and paid lists but I am not sure what are good lists and bad lists or solo ads.
I have a product done, a squeeze page set up and a cracking free membership offer which shows people how to create their own Video products.

Does anyone recommend a good solid solo ad provider or a quality list provider. I am prepared to pay but i would like quality not junk traffic or fake sign ups etc, as thats just a waste of time.

I have found it difficult to get a quality answer to this as many of the things people suggest they have never actually used or if they have used it, they either would not give me the stats on the results or they said they didn't know.

Didn't know---why would you do anything in IM and not track your results???

This is why I keep doing what I'm doing in the realm of free targeted traffic to get sign ups and if I ever do find a for real, cost effective method of getting sign ups in any faster, easier way, I will certainly let everyone know about it.

Whenever I consider a brand new niche for development, I often use infousa.com for testing. It's actually possible to generate thousands of new targeted subscribers in just days at a comparatively inexpensive outlay.

It appears to be a mailing list purchase site.

Would you mind sharing how you exactly used this to generate your new targeted subscribers?

And also, are the new subscribers generated by them converting to sales and at what percentage?

I am also interested. I have read a lot about purchasing mailing lists (the pros and cons) and would like to know how that works as well.

You'd be surprised at how fast it can happen, though!

Some years ago, James Penn wrote to me out of the blue with a
very similar offer. The difference is James made his approach
an amazingly personal message... and I ran a promotion to my
list based entirely on that 'first contact' (there's an ebook
by Paul Myers that teaches it, btw, well worth hunting out and
studying)

Kim and I have barely exchanged a half dozen emails between us,
over the years we've known each other. But I'm willing to bet
that if either of us asked the other for such a deal, it would
happen VERY fast.

30 days is a long enough time to contact people, refine your
approach and secure at least one promotion (which may be enough
to hit your goal). The key element is delivering VALUE to them
in proportion to justifying them letting their 1000+ list know.

Relationships help speed things up, for sure - and I would always
recommend focusing on those above everything else.

Absolutely. You could build a sustainable business on the back of doing

From where do you buy these ads anyway? - $25 for 100 clicks seems a decent deal.

I have so far stayed away from PPC or paid ads as I am getting all my traffic and sign ups for free.

Yes, every so often I read a lot about this and start checking into it.

So I checked with several people on here yesterday and today and so far, I think the price exceeds what the value of what I would get. So far, no one can even give me an idea of their average conversion rate.

This is how I "blew" a lot of money early on before I buckled down and just did what I had to do to get free traffic.

Clicks mean nothing to me if they don't convert to sign ups and to sales.

For now, I think I'll stick with free traffic and if I find a cost/beneficial paid method that gets good results, I'll definitely tell everyone.

Are we talking youtube subscribers? I am not exactly clear from your question...but I will assume that it is youtube.

I would first utilize my lists (assuming you have some), but I usually first go to facebook friends, email aquaintances, twitter followers, and other lists that I have accumulated from previous and other websites.

Why do so many people say free WSOs?

Launch a paid WSO. My last one did $100k in about a week and got me 3000 subscribers.

Get a buyers list instead...way more valuable than 1000 freebie seekers.

I'd rather have a 100 person buyers list than a 1000 person prospect list.

I haven't test it yet, but buying 1000 facebook fan page subscribers at fiverr.com with the fan page itself intregrated a plugin or software or application with optin from autoresponder, like FB Fist or something else like that.

It may be for you and some people, but I have not experienced any benefit from PPC myself.

Plus, my free traffic has skyrocketed since I implemented one new free method, so will stick with free traffic for now.

2. contacting dudes with big list and asking them interview....
3. launch WSO
4. buy a solo ad

yeah create a lot of hype and make your subscribers pissed off for feeling tricked that they unsubscribe flash! :D

I would go with getsubscribers as well. In addition to safe-swaps.
Article marketing & guest blogging on blogs that get a lot of readershio will also be ablew to get you that number

Thank you. I'm so happy if I have been any help to you or anyone else. I had gotten (and still get) a lot of help on this forum, too.

Once I figured out how to do this on my own, I worked and worked to find something that systematically worked when you do it. The latest, simplest method that I added to my already working methods was just given to me by another marketer and he sells the information in a course so I would not feel right posting it here as I have not read it yet anywhere else.

However, I was getting targeted traffic, signups and sales with my other methods (which I go through much more to my subs).

Quality, unique, original article posting on Qondio.com, then ideamarketers.com and the my own blog and then social network the blog post all over. Do this consistently t get quality backlinks, immediate targeted traffic and every time it gets syndicated, more quality backlinks and more targeted traffic.

Post on a very active forum related to your niche with something great in the sig (if it is allowed and make sure to follow all forum rules). Be helpful and contribute.

There is more that I've written before and also in my emails, so just look for and re-read my previous posts.

I am not concerned about just freebie seekers as long as my stats are good. If I ever had a list that never converted to what I thought was enough sales, then I would tweak it.

The two main multi-million dollar earners that I follow always say give away something really great. The right people will then think "wow, if they give this away for free, what are they selling???!!!" and then will generally buy.

I also believe what goes around comes around anyway and if someone is always taking and never giving it all balances out anyway.

That makes perfect sense! I do give really high quality to my subscribers, in order to ensure a good reputation.

If I would ask your how to get 500 subscribers as quick as possible, what would you say?

Similar questions have been asked in other threads and they usually ask what to do generically.

What I would do is take my most successful actions and figure out how much more of them I'd have to do and do that regardless of the number I was striving for.

As for what my successful actions are, I've posted them all in this forum several times (and I give them free to my subs) except the one I just started that I won't disclose because to my knowledge it is not known in this way yet and is being sold by the creator in a few months in a $5000 package.

For me, even in my prior offline businesses, once I find things that work (successful actions) and get a few sales, I calculate backwards to determine what I must do to make a certain amount of money and then do that.

For example: Say I want to make $2000 a week on one site.

I get paid $250 per sale on this site.

It takes me a traffic quantity of 400 to get signups of 12 to get one sale.

then by doing the math, I have to make 8 sales a week, therefore, keeping quality constant, I have to increase traffic to 3200 per week.

If the 200 traffic took me 2 articles, 20 social network posts then I would need to make 16 articles and 160 social network posts to get 3200 visits.

and that is what I would do. However, I've found when you pump up successful actions, the results are usually exponential and not linear so the ending income would probably be higher.

These numbers are all hypothetical, of course.

My site is going to be in the fitness niches, so I am thinking of making youtube videos based on keyword research to see what people are searching for.

And then demonstrate things such as:
-how to perform exercises
-diet advice
-how to reach certain goals
-use screen capture software to demonstrate more things.

What do you think of this approach?

I think that is a very good part of your entire promotional approach.

However, I would not tie everything just to youtube.

And make sure the youtube videos feed to an url that you own (of course) and not just to an affiliate offer.

If you add the youtube marketing, done properly, to article marketing and social marketing including forums you regular that allow signatures, you should get good targeted traffic. IMHO. :-)

I am thinking of making youtube videos with nutrition advice, exercises and other fitness related stuff as I am in the fitness niche.

I will do kw research and make videos based on that! What do you think of this strategy as the main traffic source?

I am by no means an expert, but I know what works for me.

yes, making youtube videos when done correctly would be a great part of your overall marketing plan that should include other things like article, social, and forum marketing.

You have to figure out what works for you. There are others on here who say adswaps, solo ads, PPC, etc.

I personally start with free traffic, though.
