Just Do It!

Hey Guys & Gals,

I'm going to ask you a simple question...

How many ideas do you currently have that you could probably complete but just haven't got around to starting yet?

Really?

However big, or however small, as entrepreneurs we all come up with ideas and too often they are left to stagnate. If you have even a moment to spare where you could potentially get one of those things done, then go do it!

I've had an idea for a plugin in my head for a few weeks and I'm sorry to say that it's still just sitting in my notepad. Planned out but not actioned! That's why I've set myself a challenge of just doing it! Within the next 24 hours I plan to create and release this plugin and to make sure of it I've putting out a post here, and on my social media accounts.

I'd love it if some of you could join me in a challenge of your own to just get something done! But I have to say that I am hitting the laser beam focus after hitting send and won't be checking this post for a good couple hours at least...

If you're with me set your own challenge below and send a message to the world that you can just get out there and do it!

Talk Soon ;)

Re: Just Do It!

I have literally tens of ideas (I almost typed hundreds but that would be exaggerating). I have scraps of paper everywhere with ideas, some for IM, some for other things in my life.

I wish you luck in taking action and getting the plugin built. (One of my to do's is to learn to program PHP so that I can write plugins - I come from an assembler/Pascal/COBOL/etc background so I doubt it will take me long once I get to that list item.)

However, I'm afraid that I won't join your challenge right now. I am currently working on a big project that will take the best part of two months and I need to focus on that. But you'll see posts from me in a couple of months offering a fantastic product :)

Tell me about it. There just aren't enough hours in the day for me at the moment. Staying focused and taking massive action in 2012!

Alright, I'll join in with an idea I just had a little while ago. And for once I actually got the domain name I wanted on the first try. Maybe it's a sign??

So here's my goal: to have an amazon store up with at least some advertising by midnight tomorrow (Saturday).

This will be my first real store, but I have an amazon associates account that was started for a project that never got going. Time to make use of it.

Sounds good, I'll make sure to check in with your progress tomorrow!

Meanwhile break time is over so back to the grind ;)

I have a lot in my To-do list but time is just not enough to accomplish all of them. Little by little, at least I'm seeing progress and showing that I'm moving and on the right direction.

So I just locked myself out of my own server by accidentally triggering my brute force protection when I confused my FTP logins. Hint I should stop? Perhaps but wheres the fun in that, time to start co-ordinating the bits I can do offline ;)

EDIT UPDATE: The plugin is complete, and the graphics + site are on way. Gonna catch a couple hours sleep and I may even get this out today!

Well it took a little longer than planned but everything is being uploaded and ready for launch today :)

How did your challenge come along? Can we see your site?

I got sidetracked and distracted by shiny things. Maybe I need to work on my mindset before anything else.

Congratulations! The first steps are always the hardest but you made the move. I'm not a big amazon affiliate but there are some really talented people on this forum. If it's your first one it might be worth sharing in a post so people can give you a bit of feedback and advice on where to take it next.

I got my plugin up too, Pretty much didn't sleep over the weekend but it was worth it!

That is the challenge-

damn easy to talk about stuff and even come up with the ideas

the implementation is the HIGH PAID work

Right now it's just a single page with twelve products. I'm thinking about adding at least one page every day. So before too long I'll have an informative little site plus the search engines will see that it's being consistently updated. And at some point I need to make a logo.

While I'm doing that I'll need to advertise. It's time to dust off my squidoo account.

Make a website successful. Both small and big for me - small as it doesn't seem like much to build a website - yet big because it's hell of a job.

Of more "huge" projects, which only went to the drawing board, I can mention a small device which was planned to put out the paincenter in peoples brain - mainly people with osteoarthritis (translated with Google, if it's wrong please correct me :)
The device would have a fancy on/off button and would, once turned on, in some way which I know but won't tell, turn off the paincenter. Once turned off, everything went back to normal.

Too bad I ain't got the materials to build it, would make me famous. :D

Their are so many ideas in our mind and it's good to write them on paper so that it can remind you to do it. But most of them are just idea forever because no one can get everything what they want.

There are always so many ideas in my head and the days are so short. I am working on 4 projects at the moment. The Big one is helping Warriors and other Marketers to translate and sell thier products in Europe. Working on Germany at the Moment and Hope to be finished by the end of the month.

It is difficult to work on the American (English speaking) and German (Deutsch speaking) sides at the Same time. I want both sides to work together. So it is Easy to find someone to help you get your products on to or into a New Market in a new country in a very short Time. This can only work with Partners working together and Building a Community of Global Internet Partners. Both side Profit and make Money while building thier follower and customer bases.

I Truely Feel that the Future is Global and I want to help People find an Easy, fast and efficient Way to Go Global and Build Global relationships.

Wish me luck and maybe I will See you one Day Selling your Products in Europe or even Worldwide.

sooo many ideas ... tooo many ideas ... this is probably a bit late in the post .. but since creating an idea on ANYTHING ... I now make sure it is built as a template so I can then replicate the idea.

Regardless of the function, you may find pieces that could be integrated from other ideas .. i like sammib01's idea of multilingual .. sehr gut mein Herr !

Its called the blue sky syndrome, to many idea but no action caused by hesitancy.

virtu 4th June 2012 01:25 AM

Re: Just Do It!

Blue sky syndrome? sound a nice name, lol!

Yes, like me, I collect so many methods and just read and pass it. Until I give a commitment to my 2 'near' projects. 1st, I'm a graphic designer and want to sell my services especially create sales pages for warriors. But, never start it yet!

secondly, I have a powerful amazon site and ready to sell it at very low price (I have developer license of all theme and plugins). But, never start it too!

very shame of me, yes! But, I wanna change!

I know exactly what you mean. Ideas are brilliant yes. But taking action to make this idea happen is very challenging. Only a few actually do this.

It would help to really set your mind to this idea and always convince yourself to do it.

I wonder if Allen would ever divulge such information, although I doubt it (for good reason too, it is a business).http://cdn.warriorforum.com/images/smilies/wink.gif That sounds like a steep estimate. Out of curiousity, what would you base it on?http://cdn.warriorforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
And it would be kind of nice winning by default, although I hope my post is good enough to beat people. It was very genuine.
And 20$ is sweet man, regardless if I win or not.
It's mighty kind of you to be offering an iPad if this thread wins, very decent of you. If this thread wins, the winner should be the one to pay you 20$!http://cdn.warriorforum.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Anyway, it was a really neat idea, I might start a contest of my own soon, I like seeing people discuss and interact on a more personable level, than just sharing information about boring links.http://cdn.warriorforum.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Okay I'll pitch in as well. I cannot take this procrastination any longer!!
I have 2 websites both ranking at page 2 of Google. And what I have to do is just type out an article for each site and post them. I'm pretty sure they'll hit page 1 or even #1 within a few days. I've been putting this off for almost a month now >.<

Daniel I'd really appreciate if you check my progress on this as well!
Cheers!

StunningWarrior: With that background you don't need to LEARN php. You can just start working on a project. Build your project and PHP will learn itself.... Then again, you'll need to put your long term project down for nights and weekends!

I'm just doing it myself here.... I have a team building a startup product, but I think we failed to find a good niche, so I joined warrior forum to get some feedback for our product, and possibly pivot our team to build something someone out there needs.... what do you all need?

Re: Just Do It!

Yeah, I just wrote a post in the main forum, about "information overload" and how my subs and even myself, get inundated with information or ideas (in this case), too fast and too much, it paralyzes us.

Just as soon as I get excited about a strategy, I open my stupid inbox and find another one. Man wtfreak. Should we do this? Should we do that? Suddenly, we find the days gone by, scratching our heads, wondering where the time went?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with multi-million dollar ideas, waiting to be acted on. It's crazy, because there is so much money out there, and the ones who are focused on one or two strategies, to promote their product or service, are the ones making it.

Final thought, I think because we are entrepreneurs, we are creative thinkers. Creative thinkers are (lack of a better word) scattered. Artists are examples of this. It gets messy in our heads! Trying to decipher, which idea to pursue and running through the different scenarios of what it will look like, sucks up your time. It's almost to the point, you need to hire someone to be focused for you. Give them the idea and have them run with. But not many have the trust or the funds, to throw an idea to someone and have them take off with it.

Mental Note: Be Focused Today On One Strategy!

Thanks for the post and insight!

Ideas are like popcorn that suddenly pops out of our minds all the time. May it be a weekend getaway, a business, a change of image, etc.On the other hand, not every idea are being made into action or reality just because we were able to think about it. Considerations will involve time, money and purpose.
