You should probably work on something you like and develop it into a service or a product. Have fun with it!

Running a business is fundamentally different from working in a job. In a job situation you can work on something you don't like and you will still get a paycheck; even if you're not very good at it. In some jobs you can potentially under-preform for years before you get fired.

When it's your own business, you may have to put in 12 hours of hard work 24/7 for months and if you're under-preforming, you will never make a penny.

To keep doing this, you have to work on stuff that you're interested in. Something that helps you grow as a programmer. Find a challenge! In business, you have to grow. That means you must constantly challenge your self.

    It's not for everybody.

BTW: If your mind can imagine any function that a software can possible perform, most likely that software already exists. Coming up with something totally new and 100% original is an immense improbability.

The best way to start is to identify a problem right here on warrior forum then provide a solution and sell it. I usually start with the problem and then build SaaS for the solution. Doing it this way you know you going to make sales from the start, provided you have a high quality product.

Team up with someone who needs a developer.
Then you can learn "business' on the fly, while you make a living.

Make sure you vet the hell out of any potential partners...
everyone talks a good game, most have really bad follow through.

    - Good luck

You could try freelancing at freelancing sites such as upwork and look at competition for good ideas.
