So I went through a period of hating SEO, when I got 'stuck' and could maintain but not increase traffic to some of my sites. I thought advertising and twitter etc. were where it is at. But frankly I hate twitter. I am not saying it is a bad marketing tool, it's probably awesome. But I just don't 'get' twitter it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And paid ads seem risky if you haven't tested with free traffic. I've spent my fair share on adwords in the past to end up making sales, but an overall loss.

I have now purchased Market Samurai and I am back in love with SEO because:

(a) M.S. makes it more likely for me to succeed - I need to pick the right keywords, set of keywords, and make sure I don't fall into the many traps I know I have fallen into before.

(b) M.S. videos (free on their website or youtube) have taught me a lot about where I was going wrong with SEO.

(c) I tried out my new knowledge to pick a keyword. Based on the analysis I chose to use a Hub Page, because of the authority of Hub Pages, the flexibility (no need to get anything 'approved') and the speed of creation needed for this test.

(d) I created the page and ranked #16 within 12 hours for the target keyword :-). I will now build backlinks until it is #1. Then see if I can sell the associated Amazon product.

I don't plan to make money from Hubpages in the long term - this is just a test and I will go for a .com domain info-site as the longer term approach. But it's nice to feel on top of the game again!

The best thing about Market Samurai is it a complete suite of tools that goes beyond keyword research to help you at every stage of the process. I wish I discovered it much sooner. I think I was put off by the name "Samurai" but it's a great tool.
