OptimizePress vs JVPress

I was thinking about grabbing Sean's JVPress before the WSO expires today and I've been looking at OptimizePress too and have read a lot of great comments about it.

I know some Warriors have surely done the A/B to come up with the pros and cons between the two. I'd appreciate any input that anyone can share.

Thanks.

  • I've read many of the posts in the other threads but there weren't many comments regarding JV Press. I'll look to see if I missed any threads....
  • I don't see any threads comparing the JVPRESS vs OptimizePress?

    • Does anyone have JVPRESs? Did anyone get in on the WSO?

I have Optimizepress and it is unbelievable.....Squeeze and launch pages in seconds....

I think JVPRESS is basically the same...I know there are some things being worked on and added to OP right now but not to sure what they are

  • Optimizepress is coming out with membership site templates as well as automated launches in the next couple of weeks......
    • [1] reply
    • That is SWEET! I actually just put some specs together to have a membership area WP theme done for me so now I'll see what James has cooking. Save me some money.
  • I bought JVPress and it is a complete steal for $77.

Very pro looking squeeze pages, sales pages, and Sean strikes me as someone that will MAKE SURE that JVPress is always just as good if not better than the competition.

Can't speak for Optimize Press because I don't own it, but I can say that JVpress is crazy easy to install, and very powerful.

  • Are these themes really only for people that have a product to sell?

I'm trying to understand the difference between these themes and other (regular) wordpress themes.

    Thanks!
    • [1] reply
    • You don't need a product to use the themes.

Personally, I have a hard time with all the technical stuff, but with JVPRESS I can set up a squeeze page in a matter of a couple of minutes which is useful in any niche whether I'm a product owner or an affiliate.

I'm also using the sales page template as a good clean landing page for pre-sells in many niches as well. ANYONE can put these themes to use, I've never used, and don't own OP, but I vouch 100% for JVPRESS.

  • Can anyone compare/contrast (detailed or brief) the following:

    optimizepress.com
    easyvideoplayer.com/evp-2.0/
    jvpress.com
    creationspire.com/wpspire/
    fusionhq.com
    flowplayer.org
    traindom.com
    squeezetheme.com
    wpsalesengine.com/wpt/
    videopress.com/
    12secondcommute.com/free_trial.php
    flowplayer.org
    businesscatalyst.com/sem/ecommerce-cms

I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to make video, host, and build squeeze pages for opt ins and sales funnels. I realize some of these do all and some bits and pieces.

  • Did anyone actually buy/use both JVPress and OptimizePress? I would love to learn about the differences & (dis)advantages of each system compared to the other.
    • [1] reply
    • Same here. It doesn't look like anyone has used both, so it's hard to get an actual comparison.
  • I am going to launch my own product soon. Since this is not a very huge launch, I thought I might just go out and shop for a few easy-to-launch product to be used.

Initially, Kajabi launched. COOL, I said, but I don't have that kind of money for it.

Then I got some spam emails sending me OptimizePress theme. COOL! I could use that.

Then Sean sent me an email for JV Press, even cooler! (I would have chosen this if DigiLaunchPad - DLP was not out there in the market)

But I was still hanging on the fence. OptimizePress & JV Press, they are really nice. But still, out of my budget, so eventually, I got my hand on DLP another All-in-one theme which can save my headache, and I don't have to pay for monthly fees!

It was running an offer for almost 2 weeks for only $27 (original price was $97). It can do what Kajabi does, and it's that cheap!

Cost effective wise, I've chosen DLP for sure, and I personally know the owner and got some words of how he's going to improve the template, so the final answer would be DLP. I grab that while it was running as a $27 WSO, DEEP discount.

DLP went back to its original price of $97 not long ago.

  • Thank you WSOHero,

I guess not being a Wordpress expert has made deciphering abbreviations difficult.

Thank you, I now understand that multisites personal are not the same as multisites/ multiuser - MU.

I will be checking out OptimizePress today.

    • No problem.. that's godd about this forum.. becoz you will get answer from all other warrirors if you have any difficulties..

By the way, if you are using Wishlist Member Plugins and Digital Access Pass for your membership sites, they might be used with OP perfectly..

  • I bought JVpress Nov 9th, last Tuesday. I cannot download the theme without a license key and they haven't provided me a key yet.

I have been sending emails to Sean, JVpress salespage, Warrior Forum, and contacted Support Desk for almost a week trying to obtain a license key with no success.

I am definitely going to buy OptimizePress. I asked a question at the OptimizePress support desk and I received an answer on the same day. Great support.

Support for OptimizePress is far better than JVpress support.

I think Sean is a great guy, however I suggest not buying JVpress theme until they correct their purchase problems and provide support for their product.

  • Has anyone that owns Optimize Press and EVP2 been able to get their EVP2 videos to play IN their OP template on an IPHONE?

I'm able to watch my videos from within the EVP2 created pages, but when I try to watch the same videos (embedded from my EVP2 install) from within my OP pages, I get a "Flash version 9,0 or greater required" message.

Just seeing if I'm the only one...

    • I've read where Optimize Press is being used in conjunction with membership plug-ins to create membership sites.

Thing is, I thought they only had templates for squeeze, sales, and thank you pages.

If anyone here is using OP for a membership site please tell how its working for you.

  • The only thing I found missing from OP so far is the ability to have regular blog posts.

It is built for wordpress pages, and leaves out blog posts, which is what I needed to work with Robert Plank's Wp Drip and Wishlist for a dripped membership site, providing new content each week to members over a 12 week period.

I am in the process of creating the missing files for the theme to handle this, but I wish they were already there. Other than that, OP has been awesome to work with. Straight forward while having a lot of features.

    • Do either of these products allow you to export just the sales pages created so that you can offer them as an option when you sell PLR options to your own products?

If not, does anyone know of a program/software that allows you to create killer sales pages like these 2 products do that you can then sell as PLR with the sales page included?

      Thanks
  • I have both. Optmized press is more powerful, but it is very very slow during a large product launch.

I am using jv press to set up a new product. It is considerably faster and does not put a load on the server.

    Winner. Jv press
  • Hey guys, James here from OptimizePress. Just wanted to drop in to say thanks for all the nice comments here, and also wanted to respond to the comments about the speed of our theme.

Bill - you mentioned you found OP to be very slow during your launch - do you know what version you were using?

We have made lots of improvements to the structure and coding of the theme in recent updates which speed up loading (most of the load times were down to our theme using special javascript font styling systems to give the headlines that extra nice look)

We also have more improvements in our new 1.2 release coming tomorrow, which will also include the "gateway" system for launches.

I know we've had a few of our customers now do 6-figure launches with the system successfully, so I'd love to hear your feedback if you found the theme to be slow in a recent version.

    ~James

    • I had been searching for a system to launch & host my paid for video series,

      I checked out kajabi, jv press, nanacast, fusionhq, & a few others but none of them gave me the professional look & flexibility I wanted to launch a product;

      I needed;

      1. Something simple(i am a bit slow
      2. looks great
      3. no tie-ins 500/1000 customers etc.
      4. flexibility to use my own payment cart / membership software /
      5. able to produce a squeeze page/sales page & membership theme(for the paid content)
      6. great installation videos / help

Optimizepress was the only one - in my opinion that fulfilled these.

Im not an affiliate(yet!) & don't know James,

but I can recommend it for the above,

p.s I think Maria Andros had a recent launch with Optimizepress - so I cant figure out how it could be slow....

Im finallisiing the launch & will report back with the (hopefully positive) results,

      Dan
  • So, OptimizePress with DAP should seal the deal? What are the key differences between DAP and OptimizePress, and will it get to confusing using them both together?
I am also working on a Launch, and would like to make sure I have the best tools.
  • I think that one of the biggest benefits of Optimize Press, that people are not aware of, is that James Dyson (creator) has a lot of experience creating and testing direct response website designs for top marketers like Russell Brunson and James Schramko.

Because he has the data, and the talent, and the extensive experience you can bet that just templates will help just about anyone boost their response and conversions.

They are not similar at all. Optimize Press is a direct response launch and squeeze page creation theme and launch designed to work with many other solutions such as DAP, Nanacast's Member Lock membership plugin, or whatever current ecommerce + wordpress membership plugin solution you are using.

For things like payment processing, affiliate management, subscriber management you use the other plugins in conjunction with Optimize Press.
  • I've been using JVPress for a bit and I love it. It's easy and it works.
    • [1] reply
    • As far as I know

Optimize press allows you to do 2 things which JVpress doesnt

      1-make membership sites
      2-have perpetual launch sequence

i have used neither..I could be wrong

alexa.com shows optimize press shows it getting more visitors too....its not scientific...but maybe they are getting more sales because they are better?

  • How does the TRAINING compare between these two?

    I like video training best.

Is there plenty of good training in both cases?

    Let me know.

    Thanks!!

    -- TW
    • [1] reply
    • OptimizePress has solid step-by-step video training. All the trainings are short and to the point because of the way the theme is set up from the end user perspective where the options and pages interface flow in a way that makes sense to the end user.

It is not all that often that the makers of software have an easy to understand approach about their products. The reason being is that (from my experience working with many developers), one has to think non-linear to be able to tie every element together so the product actually works, but still explain it in a very linear way so it makes sense to the end user, which OptimizePress does very well.

  • I just bought optimizepress and can say it really is too good for the $97 I bought.

I can't imagine paying a lot of money to a designer to create cool squeeze pages every time so I suggest you buy optimizepress once and if you like it, keep it.

It will be updated every now and then by James himself so I can bet you on optimizepress! It's slick, has a REAL kajabi feel and worth the $97.
    • [1] reply

    • I totally agree with Ronak. I purchased the both JV & OP but I personally prefer OP as it gives that real Kajabi feel for as low as $97 with no any recurrring cost and of course with Milti-site personal use. As far as I am concerned, this is definately a real deal in such a low price. I now know for fact, how much time and money that I will be able to save by simply using this OP and still be able to create high quality Sales pages, Squeeze pages, Launch Pages (not ready yet ) and more...so thanks to James,

      Kind Regards,

      Rabindra
  • I have OP and love it. I want to add they have a nice Facebook page that is actually active and helpful. I think we will see more support systems going to Facebook, since it is so much easier for users to check in all in one place instead of going to separate websites.

  • I just bought OptimizePress yesterday and after a littleplaying around, I have a new sales page up and running: Here's what I made

This only took me around an hour and I definitely could have done it quicker now that I am used to the theme.

I am a designer and coder myself but my main problem was - time. I have so many projects and work on the go I find time to be a premium. I went for OptimizePress as a time saver to let me get my sales pages, squeeze pages etc. online quickly and I have to say, it's been great in that regard.

I haven't tried JVPress yet but I am sure it's great as well. I'd say you can't really go too far wrong with either of them.

    • I own JVPress and it's an amazing software. The only downside for me is, you can't use the amazing looking botton graphics with white label aweber acounts like i.e profollow, senderpro or any other service not included in jvpress list. I have seen that with OP it does no matter, as you simply paste the code you get from any autoresponder service. I will do my switch over to OP next week!
  • Optimize Press gets two thumbs up from me. It's very easy to use, flexible, and dynamic. They have excellent support, and a growing community. You can't go wrong with this theme.
  • You dont have to make a page an OP page...if thats what you mean?

Or you could just make it a blog page
    • [1] reply
    • Two questions about OP please...

      1) I understand why OP is awesome for creating squeeze pages and perpetual launch pages, etc., but what are the advantages for using OP for the actual membership site over any other customizable WP theme?

      2) I have a yet to be launched membership site with over 125 pages of content. I built this before OP with an off the shelf WP theme and DAP but I still don't like the look and feel of the site. I like the way OP can create clean looking Kajabi-ish looking pages. Is there a place in OP where I can GLOBALLY make all the changes I want to those pages, or is my only choice to change each and every page individually within OP (Aaaargh!)?

      3) Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf WP theme that has the look and feel of a Kajabi site like this LikeBuzz (I am not affiliated with that site in any way but I know it was created with OP)...or a WP theme that can be easily and quickly customized by a non-techie to look similar to that? I found the solution to my 3 questions here from using the WP SPIRE THEME. See 3 posts below this for more information about it.

      Thanks

      Steve
  • Maybe this is not a right question, does anyone know if either these press stuff works for non-English language? Such as Chinese, I know if it,s a WP plugin, it should be ok, but don't know if the pictures or other embedded stuff will also work for internationally?

    Appreciate if someone knows
  • perfect for CPA landing pages !! great theme pack
    • [1] reply
    • Someone mentioned that OP is good for creating membership sites. I disagree, because as awesome as OP is for creating squeeze pages, etc. (and I'll be using it for my perpetual launch sequence pages too), OP can NOT make global changes at this time. That means IF you want to use it for creating a theme for a content site (like I did), then you will have to change the OP settings for every single page of your site (aaargh!). My membership site has 140+ pages so I had to bail on using OP for that purpose. So I bought the WP Spire Theme and easily created a really nice custom theme for my 140+ page membership site. Like OP, WP Spire also creates squeeze pages, etc.

      Bottom line...

OP does squeeze pages, etc., plus perpetual launches but can not make global changes at this time.

WP Spire can be used for all the stuff OP can do (excluding perpetual launches) but can also be used as a theme creator for a content site due to its ability to make global changes.

A nice thing about both OP and WP Spire is that they both have awesome customer service.

So that is my two cents.
      Steve

P.S. I have no affiliation with either products.

  • I am looking for someone to setup a perpetual launch in OptimizePress. any one interested...let me know please.

    • Wow. Great thread. I'm trying to decide between the two myself. They both look good.

I may be leaning toward JV press because I was impressed with the sample video tutorial on setting up JV Press, complete visual detail: Go here, click this link on the right, then scroll down...I need to see things like that.

I don't like boring set-up tutorials that drone on or -- the opposite -- they speed through set-up at a lightning speed that I have to back up the video several times to see what was done. JV Press tutorials have a perfect pace.

Sometimes little things like that can make a difference.

I've recently asked for a refund for a squeeze page theme I bought because I had trouble with a basic thing: saving update changes. Wha??? You get what you pay for, I guess.

So it's definitely going to be either Optimize Press or JV Press.
  • Just started with OP today. So far it looks awesome. The graphics are just so clean. Makes great looking pages in minutes. Bit of a learning curve
  • Guys, optimizepress and JVPress (Manual here, shows you the skinny, his first video is to salesy, 2nd one helps) both rock, but they are both themes. What if your dying to use just one squeeze page on the theme you have worked so hard to create/find on WP?

Well, you can only operate on ONE theme at a time. So, trying to use either of these with a Preexisting site you love in WP will be very hard. If its a seperate domain or subdomain, great. Child themes are for editing a site and having a parent theme updates not effect your child themes code edits, I believe. SO that wont work.

So if your dying to use just a page, I would do WPSalesEngine to have complete control over a page. I haven't used any of the 3 officially, so do correct me if I am mistaken. Once I buy for sure, I will let you know.
  • I m using optimize press from last month and yah m pretty statisified.
  • Two Thumbs up for OptimizePress from me as well. I actually purchased JVPress as well... but never used it (didn't see the need after messing around with OP). :-/

I've built perpetual launch funnels, membership sites (using the membership template and DAP) as well as a regular blog using the blog template supplied with OptimizePress. It's relatively easy to set up when dealing with a new site... not so much when dealing with an existing site.

Having said that, I think all of the templates in this theme look great.

    /Steven
  • i also got jvpress before i purchase 'profits theme'.. I used jvpress on one site but once I started with profits I never looked back.. It's awesome.. and much easier than adding all the tags like in optimize press
  • I use Optimize Press. Nice graphics.
  • You actually get a free copy of Optimize Press if you sign up with Chris Farrell's "Chris Mentor Me" program that's currently launching now.
