A rather stange problem..... Do you have an answer?

Last week, I made some changes to a site of mine. Then a few days later I made some changes to another site. I STILL can't "see" those changes even though I know they have taken place.

I have a Mac and am using Firefox. I did contact a couple of friends in other countries and they have no problems seeing the updated sites. Forgot to ask which browsers they used.

If I use the Flock browser, I am able to see the updates, but Safari and Firefox show no updates.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on and how I can fix the problem?

I have cleared history, cache, cookies and everything ese I could think of.

Thanks

Sandy

Try this. Open the terminal and if you are still running Tiger or below type this:

    lookupd -flushcache

If you are running Leopard type this:

    dscacheutil -flushcache

Shut down FF and Safari and maybe even restart the computer. See if that helps.

Sandy, I think it was Sherlock Holmes who said something like, "When you
eliminate the impossible the only thing left, no matter how implausible, must
    be the solution."

The only thing that makes any sense to me is that you thought you cleared
your cache but either really didn't or the clear function on your browser
    isn't working.

As you said, if you use your Flock browser, you can see the updates.

Therefore, the problem is with Safari and Firefox, either via a problem with
both browsers or your not actually clearing the cache, either through user
error or a malfunction with the browsers.

There is no other logical explanation.

    The fix?

Clear again, make sure you did and if that doesn't work, reinstall the two
    browsers.

Steve, thanks for responding. I have tried clearing the cache about 15 times already, but to now avail. I also took your advice and downloaded the latest Firefox application, but that doesnt work either.

If it were the ISP, then Flock shouldn't have worked either. Do you have a router between your computer and your modem? Try resetting that and see what happens.
