Where Can I Find To Build A Free And Premium Classifieds ?

Hiya,

I'm thinking of running my own Classifieds, maybe like backpage.com or gumtree.com or craiglist.com.

I need the software to allow me to create packs to allow free postings on some categories and paid posting on others. Must be able to control which categories need to pay before posting.
And better, if it allows the admin to decide which member member or group can message another member or group for free and which for paid.

Prefer a free php script. Anyone know of any good ones or really good quality but low price ?

    I don't know of any platforms like that.

    A lot of commercial classified ads software probably has some features (i.e. paid and free sections) but unusual things like managing paid and free private messages between users are probably not standard.

    Have you tried looking for existing solutions either software or plugins?

    If you find a WP plugin/application that "almost" works you could probably hire a developer to add custom features for you.

    Very doubtful there is an existing free script lying around.


    This is the free stuff I could find that looks decent but it probably doesn't do what you want "out-of-the-box". Also some are components or classes that can be included and used when building new applications.

    May be helpful in developing a custom solution.

    Why don't you look for a classified site that's up and running and for sale? I'm sure there are dozens of them. It might be easier than starting from scratch.

    I don't think it is a good idea b/c it will take you much time to fill up the space. As travlinguy said, it is rather nice to start with an already established classified site.
