Technical help please!

Hey guys.

So i want to launch a membership site

On my site I have products for sale owned by other people. I originally looked at JV Zoo for this. Create a JV for each product and make an immediate profit split per sale.

With my % of the split I want to be able to pay affiliates (not instant) their split

I want to be able to have an affiliate sign up on my site. I want 3 options of affiliate commission related to the type of membership. FREE, (No affiliate commission) Premium (25% commission) VIP 25% + 2nd tier commission)

Is that simple to put together or tricky? Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

This shouldnt be too difficult. I don't think JVZoo is the best way to go for this specific setup though

    Feel free to PM.

I use to see some sites similar to your description, however I don't think you can use JVZoo for handling the whole process hands-free. Besides, affiliates who want to promote your products will need to go to JVZoo to make a request.

If you are using a WordPress site try taking a look at the ShopperPress and WooCommerce plugins.

Let's say your split on the original JV product is 50%.

From your 50% you're going to take out a profit and pay affiliates up to 25% plus a 2nd tier commission (VIP).

To me, that doesn't compute. Affiliates are giving up a large percentage of sales in order to be a member of your site. Why would they want to do this when they could go to any number of venues and make 50-75% commission on a product without the middleman (you)?

    Hi Steve,

    Good quesstion.

The membership site is a Group discount site for IM products. So all products are discounted from 25-40% of the original price of the product. (depending on your membership level)

When the affiliate refers someone, they refer them to a site that's going to be saving someone money and is almost a FREE service, rather than being sold something, so it wont even be considered a sales process by most members.

At the same time, you'll get 25% commission on every purchase that referred sign up makes for Life.

We'll focus on quality, so we'll only have 3 promotions a week to start. but that's 150 products promoted to the referred person a year and you make 25% commission on anything they buy.

What's great is you're free to promote the offers you want to your list AND we'll be promoting products almost on your behalf at the same time

What's especially great is the whole process is known to the membership base beacuse they're used to receiving such offers from Groupon in their life outside IM/MMO. And on top of that, all material will be created by the product owner who should be able to maximize conversions without you having to do a thing.

I hope that makes sense. And I'd love your feedback.

    Thanks

    Roy

Have to admit it makes little sense to me....because you are selling affiliate products. What if the sellers don't WANT you to discount their prices (which is basically giving a kickback on commissions....right?).

So all products are discounted from 25-40% of the original price of the product. (depending on your membership level)
The "membership deals" sites are not new - but the idea of using other people's products at discounted prices YOU set is a shaky foundation in my opinion.

      Maybe I'm missing something here?

        Hi Kay,

I'm basically trying to create an ethical Groupon for the IM/MMO world.

The concept is that everyone wins:

Product owners get there products in front of larger audience, similar to a WSO. There are many reasons why this might suit them. Most important is that we agree before hand to the 1 week promotion, we are not trying to manipulate a commission program that already exists, this is a special offer agreed by both sides, the product owners are even responsible for preparing the sales page. (to help us maximize conversions)

Affiliate marketers can send people to a Group Discount site that actually saves their list money on products. This is not selling, this is just recommending, a really easy sell. Then they can sit back and do their own thing whilst every week we promote 3 offers. If any of their referrals buy anything they can 25% commission.

We estimate monthly commission of around $3.5k for every 1000 referrals.

Most importantly, the members. Not only do they get access to discounted products, they actually get pre-selecting done for them. We'll only work with established products. We help them buy the best products and avoid the scams,

For me, it's really important that I can get somene like you to see this site for what it is. You've been around this industry for a while and your opinion is valued.

Thanks for taking the time to give your comments
