Sync Gmail while offline between Android and Laptop?

I was told you can sync Gmail while offline from Android to a laptop, reply to messages on the laptop, and have it sync back to the Android, to be unplugged, go to a wifi connection and then send?

Anyone know how to do this?

    No "syncing" is necessary.

    ...because your gmail isn't located on your Android device, nor your laptop. Both devices simply access your gmail account on their servers.
